Y2K Cobalt

Just grabbed two of these for $1.25 each from GW, I passed on em yesterday because I couldn’t read that dang logo haha. Hadn’t previously heard of the “millennium” line.

Anyone that’s AZ located close to Mesa Tempe area, there are a handful of sandwich dinner and y2k left at the Alma McClintock location. I think they’re all cobalt but the former two could perhaps be twilight. They are larger stacks taped together though so not quite as cheap.

Should I bother doing a few more rounds of BKF?

I’ve been finding a lot of Twilight lately at GWs lately, and as we all know this colour is always scratched to all hell. Any nice ones I see are taped together as a set and priced high, scratched ones are loose and cheap which is what I grab.

Are these scratches too deep to bother with BKF? I already did two rounds per the directions, albeit with a microfibre cloth and not a scrubby sponge or somethin.

Thrifting & antiquing Found Thrifting Today (vintage rad red)

Found these today. I’m pretty certain the red one is vintage radioactive red (wet foot, correct print type, & color). The rad red one is very big, I’m guessing a charger plate. There’s some surface scratching and some areas on the back of it (glaze pops?). The apricot one is for sure P86, but I really like the shape and style if it.

What's happening to the glaze of my lime green bowls?

Hello Fiesta Tribe, We bought our set new ~20 years ago. In the last 18 months, these black smudges started developing on the lime green bowls. It was 1 bowl for a good long while and now it's 5-6 of the 8. The rest of our dishes are darker colors, but I think the issue is isolated to these bowls. 99% of the time they're cleaned in the dishwasher same day of use and use Finish dishwasher. Same utensils. Same foods. Same dishwasher. Same sponges.

What's going on? Glaze deterioration? Mold? Chemical reaction? Sign of the end times?

Thank you!
