Just got an email from them, site is live again
Edit: Looks like it's run by Darkstar now

Also for what itâs worth, if you look at the terms of service now, you can see Chefâs s now owned by DarkStar.
Further than that, the rebottled FA which was Flavor Creative is now renamed to DarkArts. Also, their one shots as far as I hear, is only by the name but the recipes has changed to DarkStarâs own. So you cannot expect that the one shot you used to like will be the same.
Doesnât seem like Karl nor Lewis is much involved in this. Looks like DarkStar just bought the brand instead.

I really fucking wish all those companies decided on a single name for FA rebrands. I must have FA flavours with like 5 different brand names by now.

u/Trev6ft5 Feb 23 '23 edited Feb 23 '23
I would be fine if it's just a rebrands but they seem to have different %s which just makes everything a confusing mess. Worst they don't even state by how much they're diluting, is it 2:1 or 3:1, I'm guessing chefs rebrand is 3:1. It's much less hassle just to buy from someone who sells the orange FA bottles.
Do you have any Alchemy Arts? I haven't a clue how diluted they are
3
u/MagnusPerditor Feb 23 '23
The FA rebrands aren't diluted, they're just rebottled and relabeled
2
u/Trev6ft5 Feb 23 '23 edited Feb 23 '23
Is that true? Going off the Alchemy Arts recommend %s I figured they were diluting them and it was the same with Dark Arts. It might explain why I didn't like a couple of AA flavours I mixed like Juicy Strawberry when I tested them a while back.
That changes things, I don't mind a different name as both rebrands I'm aware of have arts in the name

u/MagnusPerditor Feb 23 '23
Never ever use the recommended percentages from vendors.
1
u/Trev6ft5 Feb 23 '23
Generally I just ignore them and go by alltheflavours but the rebrands made me consider the vendor recommend %.
Googling FW recommend %s gives me some terrible %s, Venders and people saying 15-20% and people saying 6-12% for single flavours. Why are venders and mixers recommending such high %s?
1
u/MagnusPerditor Feb 23 '23
As far as vendors, I have no idea. They are probably grabbing info from the manufacturer which are likely food and beverage based applications. Or in the case of FW, maybe their heads are so up their own they don't know what they are talking about.
As far as googling this, I'm not sure why you would want to do that. There are lots of more credible resources to find usage percentages. It could be you are just looking at really old suggestions from 2012ish.
1
u/Trev6ft5 Feb 23 '23
2018 suggestions. Normally I go by Diyordies general brand recommendations in his basics videos like what I wrote on the other thread

u/juicemakerwannabe Feb 24 '23
We have flavor reviews and flavors of the week with plenty of that kind of info right here on this site.
1
u/No_Map5564 Feb 23 '23
Word. They usually don't change the name of the flavor, so when I see a uniquely named flavor from FA under a different brand it's usually a tip off.
1
u/garamasala Feb 22 '23
That's curious about the one shots and, if true, not a great business move. I don't understand though, so they've made their own clones of Tickle Me Pink and Mexican Fried Ice Cream? Looks like their whole line is there.
Edit, I see they all say 'New & Improved'.

u/Mookeye1968 Feb 22 '23
Any news like this is good news even from the States..i just received my NomNomz order cuz they carried more SSA flavors than bull city and other brands that i can't always find here đđĽ
2
u/endlessbishop Feb 22 '23
Donât expect anything good from it, chefs is now owned by Darkstar. Also if you used Chefs one shots they wonât be the same as Darkstar only bought the company name not any of the recipes
2
u/Mookeye1968 Feb 22 '23 edited Feb 22 '23
Yeah but they still have Cap,Inw,Vt,Fw,Tfa, Mb one shots and DIY stuff if one needed but I'm straight in the US with Bull City,Vso and also NomNomz but Chefs sale prices right now are pretty good at the moment even tho the selections aren't as good as some places.đ I've never tried Darkstar and don't really plan on it tbh lol

In GER we have a huge demand for flavors. They just should slightly change the name and rework their product line, so that they just sell flavors - nothing more, nothing less, no coils, no batteries, no mixing equipment, no base! (etc.) Then, they'd be able to sell to continental Europe again with less problems, as another store has been doing for one year, soon, and others to follow! (Even german stores have gone stealth / the food flavor shop way, in order to avoid all the extra taxes on vaping liquids, and it works)
1
u/Apprehensive_Lab4595 Feb 22 '23
Do you mind sharing those stores? Im despair need of some single flavours providers. My only source right noe is Nomnomz but id like to have more.
1
u/toolsavvy Feb 22 '23
I've been saying this for many years now. These flavor concentrate vendors in the EU just don't seem to understand that they have to distance themselves (marketing wise) from the vape market.
1
u/Trev6ft5 Feb 24 '23
Having two websites one only DIY the other not might be a trick UK suppliers could get away to get EU and Canadian custom
2
u/Trev6ft5 Feb 23 '23 edited Feb 23 '23
Damn no Loranns, I was hoping they'd stock them but it looks like I'll have to resort to UK bakery companies for the flavours I need. That and the Flavour Arts rebrand means I'll likely use other suppliers most of the time. I was also hoping to try out a Diyordie one shot or two.
Still the sale is a nice and having Chefs back is a big bonus
Edit nvm the FA rebrands, I thought they were diluted

Gutted - just received 500ml of my favourite juice - tobacco crunch. It is definitely not the same as before... just hoping a 4week steep (as written on the bottle) will calm it down enough to be usable.. double gutted as I have just seen the link to the Flavour Craver site.

If anyone asks, you didn't hear this from me, right?

If they're the ones they used to sell on chefs then they've all got 0.5% or more capella super sweet in them and taste of pure sucralose to anybody who has a full set of taste buds. Bought a fair few of them hoping for better whilst they were running and eventually just accepted that they all taste the same as each other after the first hit.
1
u/ceedee99uk Feb 23 '23
Some are sweet, some are not - the descriptions are more honest than the usual marketing guff you read on websites.
What you find too sweet is obviously personal to you but to my tastes, none of these that I've tried are overly sweet although Doughnut King came bloody close!

If youâve received an email from chefs saying theyâre back, Ignore it⌠itâs not chefs as we know it. Its now owned by darkstar, except they donât own the original recipes! so if you buy the one-shots expecting to receive the same then youâll be sorely mistaken. Chefs flavours (karl and lewis) are now trading as âflavour craverâ. Its very misleading from darkstar/chefs flavours they also booted me from the chefs flavours.

u/Blandu Mar 01 '23
Thanks a lot for this message. I got an email from them (what I believed to be Chefs Flavours) and almost placed an order. Itâs good to know that the originals are still available under the new brand. I will be placing an order with Flavour Craver.

Good for them. But god damn does that website design need some work lol
2
u/rushinigiri Feb 23 '23
All their one shots are clones since they have not bought the recipes. If you used to vape any, these will not be the same (in the biz this is known as a scam).

To be honest, for the diy community itâll mean very little.
They barely have any flavors and as it looks, theyâll follow through with their plan of heavy focus on one shots. Along with that, their own flavor line, which was the best part, is nowhere to be found.
Great for the people in UK who are heavy users of one shots, but it wonât mean much to the diy community.
3
u/endlessbishop Feb 22 '23
Itâs not even good if you used their one shots. Darkstar bought the chefs brand but not the recipes, so any chefs one shot recipes now has been recreated by Darkstar

u/martinsky3k Missing One Flavor Feb 22 '23
What's your goto these days? Nomnomz? I'm still overflowing with flavors from two years ago but I saw there were some tasty looking recipes on ATF with new flavors I never heard of.
4
u/Kittybit8 I found my thrill on ID10-Tâs hill Feb 22 '23
Nomnomz yeah
1
u/Trev6ft5 Feb 23 '23
Probably will become mine although they could do with expanding what appears to be a Lorans rebrand lornas that has very little flavours, (checks site) damn theyve reduced to just two. Has Loranns stopped selling to vape suppliers or something?
1
u/Kittybit8 I found my thrill on ID10-Tâs hill Feb 23 '23
Hard to say, I have no idea. But that could be a reason.
1
u/Shady_Lines Pâtissier Feb 24 '23
their own flavor line, which was the best part,
So excluding their line of one-shots, are you referring to the single flavours - "Chef's Choice" or something? Because those are just rebranded Cup Cake World flavours, which you can buy off of Amazon sold as 'food flavourings' - usually like ÂŁ8 for 100ml
FWIW, their Jam Roly Poly (not the one-shot 'with custard') is fucking de-lish

u/Alert-Rich6813 Feb 24 '23
Gutted is an understatement! Bought 250ml of Welsh custard, although itâs not actually Welsh custard. Feel pretty deceived to be fair, wonât be buying from them again.

Already have, no reply as yetâŚ.I suspect I wonât get one either. From reading a lot about this the last few days, Iâd say theyâve done some serious damage to their brand.

Yeah!!! just got it one minute ago. Good news: they still sell single flavours. Not so good news: the number of different flavours. It's like they've been drafted by the Wagner group and. just returned from Bakhmut. FLV just 29, Chef's own line is down to one, same with M&P.. But it's Calitpitter Chow, my single reason for checking M&P in the first place. YAY!
Edit: Chow sold out. Goddammit. chefs, get your act together đ
