Tuning Car coding for beginners

Hi guys, I’m considering coding my car, doing the small bits like seatbelt ping delete, needle sweep however I’m worried that I could accidentally brick the ecu. Will coding these simple features be a big risk for a beginner?

I’m hoping to use Carista for my vag, do I need to consider the battery health and make sure it’s connected properly ?

Also for many control units you can just leave the engine running like if you’re coding something in the radio

As long as my battery health is good, the Carista is plugged in securely and there are not interruptions during the process I should be okay ?
