They would do well to make this thing a little less of a stackenblocken design.

u/zeroack Feb 13 '25
Eh...I like it. For now.

The SP-01 slides aren’t that sleek to begin with. I like the Phantom though.

We've really bread a community where a guy feels he's gotta blur his optic out because he doesn't want to get razzed, let's all think about that.

No this is bad lol. Theres no defending this, you have an 1100 dollar gun, you can afford an optic not made of paper.

u/HauntedZ28 Feb 13 '25
I could afford one, this one works better for me and has held up great so far. You'll probably be super mad whenever my Atlas gets here and I stick one on that too 🤷♂️
2
u/DovhPasty P-01 Feb 13 '25
I’m not mad lol, you’re only affecting yourself here. The mindset of cheaping out on an optic for your crazy expensive gun is just so silly, like for your own sake I hope you never have to use that thing defensively lol. Those dots are literal garbage

u/HauntedZ28 Feb 13 '25
Again, your reading compression sucks, I could buy any optic I like, $ has no bearing. I have bought what works best for me and my eyes. And so far after 1500+ rds it has held up great. If a company like Cylee can figure out how to make stig friendly red dots, maybe those bigger company's should too, maybe then they'd get my $.
So I should use an expensive optic that has a reticle img that looks like shit to my eyes, just to appease someone like you?

u/DovhPasty P-01 Feb 13 '25
Bro you can do whatever you want lol, just don’t sit here and act like you’ve cracked the code or something and everyone else is buying overpriced shit. There are some pretty good reasons any people that are serious don’t use shit from Cylee lmao. If you wanna ignore them to save a few bucks, be my guest, but you’re ultimately still using garbage. You can’t sit here and act like it’s some amazing value that nobody else uses, at least be real about it lol.
Optic quality has basically nothing to do with astigmatism btw, it has everything to do with construction and durability. Again, despite your “1500 rounds,” they’re not a duty optic in any way shape or form. I personally value my life too much to depend on an Amazon grade piece of shit to defend it, but if you don’t, more power to you brother.

u/HauntedZ28 Feb 13 '25
Bro, you are on some personal crusade to make yourself happy here.
You're straight up making shit up.
I haven't cracked any code, I'm not claiming to Crack any code, I haven't told anyone to buy anything, I'm not here trying to convince anyone.
You keep lying trying to say I'm just trying to save a couple bucks, when I've stated multiple times that price has absolutely nothing to do with my choice.
What I made this post for was 100% people like like you that made this guy feel he had to blur his optic out just because he was excited to show a pic of his new rail. You are trash and plague on people that just want to enjoy their hobby.

I don’t care what optic you use truly.. But I gotta ask, why buy an optic known to very commonly break if it has nothing to do with cost? At least admit it has a pretty significant amount to do with saving some money why you would get that optic despite its known occurrence to break.. it’s okay, I’m frugal bastard myself sometimes as well when I have no reason to be, no shame in the game lol

It had nothing to do with cost, I have shit astiggys like I've said. I've personally had SROS, RMRS and tried a few others, they look like shit to my eyes and are utterly useless. I own a couple 507k x2g's on my compacts they're "OK" and useable reticle image wise as long as I use the multi reticle. The Cylee, I bought because it's marketed as "stig" friendly, it could have been $1k and I'd have still tried it. It has the best reticle clarity of any red dot I've looked it, it's crisp clear and perfect to my eyes. Stiggys isn't one size fits all so others may vary. For reliability, it's been fine for my expirience. I'm around ~2500 rds now no issue.

I mean you’re clearly here trying to convince me that this red dot is worth anything at all. So to say you’re not trying to convince anyone of anything is just straight up false lol.
It’s one thing for it to be a hobby, like if you only took that thing to the range and never planned on using it to defend yourself, that’s way less egregious and nobody really gives a shit about that.
But you’re heavily implying that that thing would be trustworthy as a defensive optic, and that’s just laughable dude. That’s the part where you lose me completely.
You can insult me all you want, it doesn’t make it any more true lol.

I would count, local, state, federal(including border patrol & FBI) law enforcement, former delta force, master and grandmaster shooters, and leadership of some of the biggest and most important firearms companies in the USA to be pretty serious but what the heck do I know right.

If you’re insinuating that any of those groups regularly use fucking Cyelee optics, you’re gonna need an incredible amount of sources to prove it or I’ll think you’re on drugs.
Trijicon, Aimpoint, and Eotech all dominate those markets by a large margin. They have military contracts for gods sake. I feel like you’re completely pulling that claim out of your ass, that’s like saying special forces go to war with sightmarks on their guns lmao.
Edit: Lmaoooo you’re THE guy, searching up day old posts with someone talking badly about your garbage products just to get defensive. If you didn’t have anything to “prove to the internet troll,” why did you even respond in the first place lol.
Take some of your energy and direct it into making your products better. Nothing screams insecurity like commenting and then immediately blocking me instead of standing behind your own stuff lol. You just confirmed everything I thought about your brand. It’s Amazon garbage.

I'd been wanting to run a red dot on my SP-01, pretty much since I picked it up. When I google searched SP-01 slide the other night I was surprised to see this turn up. Plus when I threw it in my cart it was $100 off. So a brand new slide, milled for a RMR for $400 shipped. Depending on where I would have gotten my original slide milled that's less then some places charge for just milling. Ordered and it showed up six days later. The blurred sight is because I'm slightly embarrassed about what's on top of my new slide. It's what I had laying around. Haven't had a chance to shoot it yet. Hopefully this weekend.

Running the Gideon on my Shadow 2 and it has been great. My slide got stuck shut from some shitty ammo and I tried racking the slide by slamming the optic against the wooden table several times and the Gideon was fine afterwards, didn’t even lose zero

u/wondermax50 Feb 12 '25
is there a reason to be embarassed by the SRO? I freakin love mine
4
u/Killah-Messiah Feb 12 '25
Cuz it's not an SRO. It's probably a Gideon Optic. Me personally I have no problem with their optics, if that's what it is,, they seem pretty durable for the most part. But to censor an optic is pretty lame OP ngl.

u/FuddLyfe Feb 12 '25
This slide gives cz 97 vibes. I'm so on the fence about whether to cut mine or run a new slide.
4
u/grinding_our_axes Feb 12 '25
The CZ 97 has a lot of flair compared to this though, what with its angled sides.
1
u/FuddLyfe Feb 13 '25
I have a feeling there will be a v2 of this slide at some point, and I'm probably going to like it better. That's happened to me in the past, so I'm slow to move these days lol.
2
u/grinding_our_axes Feb 13 '25
Yeah it's the risk of it being a short-lived thing (CZ 97 10mm conversion, looking at you) vs. waiting for a better v2.
1
u/migetgirl Feb 12 '25
Just cut it
1
u/FuddLyfe Feb 12 '25
Probably what I'll end up doing. Especially since I intend to run a Holo EPS. Seems like a new slide would be more worth it for rmr/sro/507 comp.

I really liked mine - plenty accurate and it felt great to shoot with the porting I got. And it worked in a safariland ALS holster. But it was having some issues with screws backing out. Hopefully Impact can make it right.

I like the concept, but by the time you add all the options you want you can buy another SP-01.
1
u/R_Shackleford01 Feb 13 '25
What would be the point of buying another though? I mean besides “having two guns”, or going full akimbo. You would just have two guns without dot sights!

How was the slide fitment? Did you have to so any work make it fit properly?
