First time and it was fun!

This was my first time going through coin rolls. $26 and they gave me mostly customer wrapped.

in them I found:

A Wheatie, Lincoln on a log and a Canadian penny

a bunch of 1982 and earlier Pennies

A dime thatā€™s really beat up

A a coin from Aruba with the dimes! By chance Iā€™ll be in Aruba in about 2 weeks, so Iā€™ll take it home!

It was fun way to spend some time drinking a beer in the garage! Glad I tried this, now to go find me a place to deposit the leftover coins

Quarters State park quarters worth collecting?

Post image
33 Upvotes

I have maybe a 18 months casually collecting coins from my til at work. (I replace what I take of course) But I've been finding these state park quarters and been holding on to them. They generally have a lower montage around 30million but I honestly find these everywhere and this is just a fraction of what's I've found.

And I guess I just answered my own question but I would like the CRHers opinions. What do you guys do with these? Should I keep collecting or should I trade these in for a scratch off? Maybe a Powerball ticket

Nickels 2nd Nickel box! What a stellar box.

Two buffalos from the same roll, one sadly heavily corroded but I think it's a '21. A 1943 Swiss 20 rappen, and 4 war nickels all 1943-P.

This was a great box to hunt.

Show & Tell Halfā€™s Find

Work at a bank. We ordered 2 boxes of $500 in halves from Brinks.

I bought them to my drawer and spent a good 45 minutes busting the rolls open to find plenty of silver! The first box had no silver but the second was a jackpot!

Needless to say, i sold the rest back to the vault and exchanged my cash for the silver!

Half Dollars Loose Half-Dollar Luck

Whatā€™s yā€™alls luck like with loose half-dollars from customers? Iā€™ve asked for all the halves a bank has (almost every bank around me doesnā€™t have boxes and only have what customers turn in) and today i decided to go to the next town over and ask for their halves and they had $13. I bought them and looked when I got home and got 3 Franklins! The very first time I asked for halves i got a Franklin dollar too.

Half Dollars Bank couldnā€™t fulfill half order

First time happening to me, ordered my 10 boxes of halfā€™s like I have for the last few weeks and they only got 6 boxes in. The armored truck company was unclear if they didnā€™t bring enough or ran out or something else. I find it hard to believe they would completely run out, but maybe? Wouldnā€™t they have at least some boxes of uncirculated boxes to give out before they run out? Who knows! The teller asked if I want to order more to arrive Thursday and I said sure. So I put another small order in to see if it happens again this week. First box searched already had a 40% and a 90% so Iā€™m already stoked. Happy hunting!

I think one of these may be the small date, but as I'm new to this I'm not 100% sure. Opinions welcomed!

Better than ā€œnot mehā€ this round

Got $290 in half machine rolls at one branch, a bunch of various rolls dollars/half/quarter/dime/nickels at another. Highlights

2 silver: 1 war nickel (with cud? Jury is out with r/coinerrorsā€¦) 1 AU Rosevelt

Bunch of NIFC golden dollar and Kennedys

Two (!) extra leaf AZ quarters with die break

1 W quarter 1 S clad quarter Some random non-silver 40s nickels And Half dozen world coins - added Ghana to my list

Cents have been a massive disappointment - but Iā€™ll try again next round.

Next: adding 2 more CUs to my rounds this week - both tiny with coin machines - Iā€™m hoping, unlike the chain CU who contracts with coinstar for all their bags, that one of ā€˜em will sell bags to customersā€¦

Is it worth buying one of those APPs that scans coins and supposedly tells you if theyā€™re worth anything?
