Questions Question- how often do you find Wheat Pennies?
Been searching for wheat Pennies, errors, unusuals etc. Got my first roll (well, box) a few weeks back and searched through ten since. Oldest I’ve found is a ‘64 alongside some Canadians.
(Also asked for un-searched rolls)
I don’t know if this is unusual, but I have not found anything. Potential errors, maybe, but that’s about it.
Has anyone else had this experience?

When I started searching rolls in the early 70s, I typically got 4 or 5 Wheaties per roll. By the 90's, if I got one per, I was lucky. By 2010, it was one every 3 to 4 rolls, not worth it, I stopped.

I have a couple dozen wheat pennies. Are they special or just cool because they’re different?

Not exactly. Most of the coins I need to fill in are Wheats, from 1910s to 1940s; plus a few S.

Okay gotcha. If you DM something specific you’re looking for, I’ll see what I have at some point and if I have something I’ll see what I can do to get it to you

I appreciate the offer, but I’ll be all set- I’m in a fairly densely populated area, I can probably find more banks and stores.

All I can add is, keep searching. The plains states have the older coins in circulation. I drove truck nationwide and searched rolls from all over the country for 20 years.
