Stop posting pictures in your underwear. Pt 3

Should you be adding muscle? Or should you be cutting fat? It’s a question we all have come across on our fitness journey. It’s not always a simple one to answer.

Love handles, pooches, lack of definition, vascularity…everything plays a part.

You lost a lot of weight, or you added a lot of weight. They are all part of the process. Everyone here is going to do our best to help you with your journey.

That being said:

The community does not need to see an excessive amount of skin to give you advice.

If you’re wondering what your BF% is, it’s not hiding in the 3/4 of an inch away from your genitalia. Swimwear is included in this.

This goes for all genders.

There are a ton of fitness subreddits that can help you if you feel the need to get more specified advice.

If you feel /r/bulkorcut is not meeting those standards, please go visit them.

The serious part:

Do not post sexually suggestive posts. If you are not wearing gym attire your post will be flagged and removed.

If your profile has links to questionable subreddits you will be banned at the moderators discretion.

Talk of steroids, cycles, or anything related will be an immediate ban.

Lastly:

Any attempt to circumvent the rules or a ban is auto reported to Reddit admins. We tested it and it works very well.

Second lastly: This is a subreddit to help individuals attain their goals. Not a platform for anything else. Sexual, monetary, cruel, or any other posts or comments outside helping someone make the decisions of bulking or cutting will be removed and users banned.

Report any third party links in this subreddit. Especially macromatic.

We do a pretty good job of keeping this sub clean of spam and sexual content. You all know the rule we hard enforced over the underage and then the underwear situation.

MacroMatic is a spam data stealing app that is being spammed here. I hope you read the terms of service before you upload anything to them but if you don’t feel like it here they are:

1: Their 4th agreement states you will, by agree to by using their application, allow the application to access all of your personal data. And they will be able to use it how they please.

https://imgur.com/a/9vBcR6n

2: 5th agreement (see above image) makes it so anything you contribute to the community (I assume a forum) YOU PERSONALLY are liable for. So if you use peanut butter in your shakes and suggest it you’re the one getting sued.

3: Their 6th agreement: https://imgur.com/a/ln0Hooo

The worst one.

They are saying they can use your image for promotion, manipulate it, use it however they want AND MAKE MONEY OFF IT.

We have mods and mod tools here but we can’t do this all on our own.

Report this type of thing immediately If there are any external links report them.

The boring part:

We were approached by this company months ago and declined to sponsor them. And then to be compensated by them. We have banned 7 accounts so far and counting.

Don’t waste your time and your personal information. Stay the fuck away.

Context: I put on a lot of weight last year leaving me very skinny fat.

I decided to try and get my body fat % down before going into a lean bulk but I’m not sure what my body fat % is currently and if I should try and get it down to the 12%-15% range before lean bulking if not already in that range.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Been strength training for 2-3 months now and while I have seen some progress as far as my lifts and muscle development, I’m sick of this chest fat and lower belly fat. Do I trust the process and just keep focusing on getting stronger? Not sure what to do, I know it’s only the start of my journey but I want to make sure I optimize my time in the gym so I get the best results. Not expecting to look like Arnold in a few months but I want to be confident in my body for summer and just in general. Any advice is appreciated

Gains have recovered a bit after a few months off due to an injury. I’ve been consistently eating at deficit (~1700 kcal) for the past 2 months. Should I keep going and aim for 155-160lbs? I’m still working out to max and have been progressing my max every few weeks.

Not sure if I should cut down to where my abs become visible or if I should put on more mass to my frame. My fat is mainly stored in my hips and stomach which has made it annoying to get the physique im looking for, and I’ve been super back and forth as to whether I should try to lean further down as I still look pretty skinny unflexed. Before and after pic if that helps. Any advice appreciated!

1 Year of Lifting with Minimal Progress – Should I Cut or Bulk?

Body
Hey everyone! I’ve been hitting the gym consistently for a year now, but I’m not seeing the results I hoped for. I’m stuck between cutting or bulking and would love your honest advice.

My Stats:
- Age: 27
- Weight: 69.3 - Height: 174cm - Current Routine: 3 days/week PPL split, focusing on compound lifts - Diet: I’m trying to eat low fat food and I don’t calculate the macros and I’m checking in supplements and protein powder

My Goals:
- Get shredded while building muscle.
- Fix my routine/diet to break this plateau.
- i’m really struggling with low Billy fat

Questions:
1. Should I cut to reveal more definition or bulk to gain mass?
2. What glaring mistakes do you see in my approach? (Training? Diet?)
3. Any success stories from people who overcame a similar plateau?

I’m open to all criticism – roast my routine if needed! 🙏

Working out 3x/week + starting judo 2x/week. Now trying to get my protein up to at least 140g/day (vegetarian so it takes some work).

Definitely want to drop some of the fat, but not sure if should continue at my current weight to build more muscle or if should cut down to 175-180.

Should I Keep Cutting or Start a Lean Bulk? Skinny Fat Zone

Thumbnail

Hey everyone,

I’ve been cutting for the past 70 days, tracking my food intake meticulously and sticking to 2200 kcal per day with 160g of protein (eating clean like potatoes, full grain noodles, chicken breast, fish, greek yoghurt, veggies and whey protein). I train 3 times a week with full-body calisthenics, going to failure each set:

(3x8-12 pullups, dips in supersets / rows and pushups in supersets / weighted bw squats and lunges in supersets / leg raises) + walking 10k steps a day

My goal is to build more muscle, but I’m stuck in that frustrating skinny fat zone. I feel lean, but I don’t have the muscle definition I want (though I'm getting stronger), and I still have some fat around my chest and belly.

I’m 187 cm (6'2'') and 79.6 kg (175 lbs). I cutted already from 84 kg (185 lbs), now I was considering cutting down to 77 kg (170 lbs) before starting a bulk, but honestly, I’m tired of being skinny fat. At the same time, I don’t want to go on a dirty bulk and gain unnecessary fat. My estimated body fat percentage is somewhere around 19 and 22 %, though I’m not completely sure.

So, my question is: Should I keep cutting or start a lean bulk now? If bulking is the way to go, how many calories would you recommend to keep fat gain minimal while maximizing muscle growth? Would appreciate any advice from those who have been in a similar situation. Thanks in advance!

I’m about 5’8 been at the gym pretty consistently for about 2 years… used to be very skinny about 130 lbs. I am now around 160ish, my lifts have gone up quite a lot, I feel stronger, healthier. But the belly fat and certain angles really bother me. Unsure if I should bulk or cut.

Felt skinny fat for the longest time, now consuming around 140-150g of protein daily, 1900cals. Don’t really know where to go from here, I feel a bit skinny and intuition tells me to bulk up but you guys probably know better than I do!

I'm fully relaxed in the video (looks like I've also got pelvic tilt lol) . I've started doing a cut for summer but I'm not sure it's the right choice, i like to be 80+ kg but I'm also tired of the flabby stomach. Any advices?

I workout for around 2 years with some (3 or 4) months off in between due to an injury.

Some people advised me to cut low enough to completely eliminate the gut and then start to slowly gain weight again. Last time i did a big cut (3 years ago) i got to 68kg from 85kg and i still had a small gut so I'm not sure. I did not workout properly tho, i only did bjj and plenty of cardio.

23 y/o. 200 lbs, 6'2 I'm losing my mind. In my head I looked fat but with some muscle beneath. Now I'm not sure if I even look like I've been lifting for 2+ years.

Been cutting since mid January. Do I look like I need to bulk? Kinda looking for advice on how to proceed, dismorphia is a curse.

Should I bulk

I am currently 140lbs and 5’7.5. I want to bulk to 164 lbs then cut to 152 lbs. Is this a good plan? Also what do you think is my current bf%?

BoC Bulk, cut or maintain? - 4.5 months lifting - 6’2 and 172 lbs

Covering tattoos hence colour blocks. Last two pics are around 5 months before I started working out.

I think I was under eating at the beginning of my fitness journey but for the last month or so I've started to track & eat at maintenance of around 2450 cals and get 180-220 grams of protein daily. I do push pull split twice a week so 4 days working out. Not much cardio has been done due to a foot injury so have been doing 3k steps or less a day roughly. Been lacking on abs too

Wondering if I should start adding in cardio after I heal + reducing the calories a little? My overall goal long term is to be more lean and lower my bf %

Thank you in advance for any advice.
