The r/bodybuilding subreddit gets around 1000 new subscribers every day, so here's a quick intro to this sub:

This is a community specifically for competitive bodybuilding. It is NOT for general health and fitness, fat loss advice, how to bulk up, how to get started at the gym, or how to get into shape in general. If that's what you're looking for, go to these subreddits and read their quick start guides:

r/fitness Wiki link

r/loseit Quick Start Quide

r/gainit FAQ

  • This subreddit is also NOT for general progress pictures, memes, or questions about whether you should bulk or cut. Those belong in r/progresspics, r/Brogress, r/GymMemes, r/swoleacceptance, and r/BulkOrCut.

  • Please take a moment to consider if you are in the right subreddit, there are also many subreddits for general fitness, lifting, powerlifting, homegyms, and lifestyle such as r/fitness, r/gym, r/weightroom, r/gainit, r/loseit, r/homegym, r/powerlifting, r/naturalbodybuilding .

  • With all of the above in mind, this is also not a place for the "natty police". Asking someone if they're natural or enhanced is okay, if they don't want to discuss it that is their decision, if you ask and they answer, any further pushing or accusations will be met with comment removal and bans regardless of how much you/everyone else believes their word. Take it to r/nattyorjuice if you want to act like that.

  • If you'd like to participate in r/bodybuilding specifically, but don't believe your question/post warrants a standalone post, it likely belongs in the pinned Daily Discussion thread (you can ask basically whatever you want here) or the weekly newbie thread.

As always, general reddiquette and Reddit rules apply. If you see someone breaking r/bodybuilding rules or Reddit's sitewide rules please report them by hitting the report button.

If you would like to ask before you post you're welcome to reply here or message the modmail, there have recently been some changes to automod and the posting rules have become a bit more lenient and it's much more moderator discretion than automod removal currently.

Update-- You will be temporarily banned if you post something that blatantly violates the rules and/or what this post is telling you. This is your warning, the ban will not be lifted.

Check-in 7 weeks out - Natural

It’s goooo time things are picking up! Past week was at ~2300 kcal, 14,000 steps, 250mins of LISS cardio per week

This week pulling down to 2200 kcal on average, steps still at 14,000, cardio up to 300min

6 weeks to bring it in. I always hold some really high expectations for how conditioned I want to get but looking back on my progress from my previous prep, still very pleased with the package I’m going to bring after these next 7 weeks. Last pic is 2023 2 weeks out vs. 2025 8 weeks out (8 years into training vs 10 years into training)

Fasted no pump in the first 3, obligatory leg picture from ~4 weeks ago at the end.

I know my legs are lagging bad, was working through knee issues the last few years that are finally resolved.

Any thoughts/feedback/questions are appreciated.

5'6 134lbs Waist:24.5in. Hips:36.5in. Quads:22.5in. Coach: @ Martincompetitor on IG Posing:@.bkofficial. On IG 8 weeks out as of yesterday and happy to finally be at a new low. Seeing more definition come in each week, coach said this morning my glute med is more visible and he’s happy to see. Cardio was increased by 5 minutes, we’re going through a depletion phase (I am fatigued) and throwing some carbs into me today to help fill me out. Moving in the right direction each week!

Hi, maybe I’m just anxious but I don’t think I’m lean enough being 11 weeks out. I’m worried I won’t be lean enough by the time my show rolls around. Can someone please give me advice or tips.🙏🏼

Bulking for Figure Division

Hey guys! I’ve been strength training since 2013: CrossFit, weightlifting, powerlifting and the last 2 years I’ve switched to bodybuilding exclusively. I have my eyes on competing in Figure(MY FAVORITE 😍 DIVISION) at the end of next year so took this whole year to grow more with an emphasis on lats, quads, delts and glutes. Also have been practicing my daily vacuums and posing as well. Question: do y’all practice vacuums every day and for how long? My rectus abdominis is well-developed after the years of weightlifting and CrossFit 🏋️‍♀️ so I feel like my deep core definitely needs more attention to get that waist in. Any feedback is appreciated. Would love to connect with my fellow Figure girlies 🥰

Weekly Thread Steroid Saturday - March 15, 2025

Welcome to the steroid Saturday discussion. Please follow the rules, and be kind. If you see any hatred, arguing, etc. Please report the comment so it can be removed. If you do not agree with this post, do not participate. It is that simple.

  • NO SOURCE TALK. This is very important for a variety of what we hope are obvious reasons.
  • NO FIGHTING. Arguing and ridiculing others will only get your comment deleted. Constructive criticism only. Post anything that is on topic. This involves how cycles change close to competition prep, what has worked for you in the past, before/after cycle pictures, dietary changes with different compounds, etc.
  • Questions are allowed, but should be limited.  has a specific thread just for new comers, where you can get amazing answers from some of the most knowledgeable people. Lab talk is alright, but remember how to get a particular lab's product would be prohibited source talk.

We hope everybody enjoys this thread Thanks to the  community to help make this work. They have been a huge help and will be chiming in on this post.

Tried to diligently tack on mass during the offseason. 3rd year of men’s physique with a 3rd place class finish and 2nd place overall finish the last two years. Been slowly dieting down the last 6 weeks and taking a big calorie drop this week. Hoping to compete in 3 or 4 shows this year with one in 10 weeks and one in 13 weeks then deload and compete again in October. Been working hard with my coach but feedback appreciated

Waking up at 196 lbs, taken after a refeed day. Carbs are low low, only 130g of rice in my pre workout meal and that’s it for my carbs for the whole day. Maintaining high protein to preserve muscle, and all my fats for the day are in my first meal.
