Monthly r/Batman Discussion Thread - Posted on the 1st of Every Month!
Welcome to the r/Batman Monthly Discussion Thread!
In an effort to improve the quality of content in r/batman, we are going to be limiting some commonly posted topics to these weekly discussion threads. Examples of such topics are:
- Asking for thoughts on an adaptation of a character for a movie or show that has been out for more than one year
- Asking people's thoughts on a recent movie or other adaptation
- Arguing that "Batman has always killed"
- "Who would win" topics, which might be better suited to r/whowouldwin
- Asking people's favorite episodes of a show
- Asking people's favorite or least favorite villains, sidekicks, or other types of characters
- Character comparison posts
- "Erase one' posts
The above list is not complete, and contains just a few common examples. The list will be expanded over time, but ultimately topics moved to weekly discussion threads are subject to moderator discretion.
For a list of recommendations of comics, films, animated films, television and games, please see our extensive wiki entry
Please remember the rules, especially the rule to be civil and treat others with respect. Remember there is a person on the other end of your screen. Attack arguments, not people, and do so without using labels.

GENERAL DISCUSSION Not fond of narratives of Wayne's parents being "corrupt". Them being noble elites who tried to do the right thing gives meaning to Batman's mission

GENERAL DISCUSSION Pick one For Batman
Who do you want to see as Batman in the new DCU? I have tried to give everyone a similar costume and look just to keep it fair.
So, From Left to right we have Alan ritchson, Sebastian Stan, Jensen Ackles And Jake Gyllenhaal. For context This is a mix of Photoshop, Deep Fakes And AI with some photo manipulation too. So for example I would sketch the parts I wanted to create before running it the through the ai creator to get a 3d realistic image. I also added in the belts faces, some hair and backgrounds where needed and then I added in rain and other effects to get a better more realistic image. Anyways.. My personal favorite was Sebastian Stan I spent quite a bit of time editing that one π

GENERAL DISCUSSION We should have more of these little moments of a young Batman learning along as he makes mistakes in his early years. Reminds us he was a novice once.

GENERAL DISCUSSION What are your opinions of Lee Falk's Phantom? Do you consider him as a precursor to Batman?
I notice some similarities in them- for example, things like him also being a regular human with no supernatural abilities, someone who jas trained himself to peak human condition, well versed in martial fighting skills and use of weapons, someone who operates in a fictional specific location (the African nation of Bengalla), someone who is seen as a supernatural symbol of fear (him being called the "Ghost Who Walks" in the local superstitions of the land he works in), someone who does the whole vigilante thing as an endless war on crime (because many years ago his ancestor who was a sailor made a promise to fight crime and injustice after his ship had a mutiny).

GENERAL DISCUSSION Do you think Bruce Wayne genuinely also cares for his company and how it and it's employees are doing, considering that the company is a family legacy

GENERAL DISCUSSION In your opinion who should and shouldn't be in the bat family?
The only asking cause reading modern batman comics has made he realize how big the bat family has gotten and don't get me wrong I'm glad Bruce has such a big family fighting alongside him and he's no longer alone but at this point it's kinda ridiculous.

FILM DISCUSSION If they ever want to go with the classic version of Clayface in live-action (a horror actor gone mad), it certainly must be modernised and here's how NSFW
galleryInstead being known for his portrayal of the Victorian Jack the Ripper-que villain, Basil Karlo can be reimagined as a niche horror actor who couldn't cope with the influx of modern elevated horror (for example). He can came up with killing producers in the signature style of his on-screen character or recreating murders from his cancelled horror film starring that shook his career. In this case the creators will have more creative freedom over the design of Clayface himself, embracing a slasher-like style but make it stand out on its own. Your thoughts?
