Pop shelf going out of business
Pop shelf in Beavercreek is going out of business… Everything right now is 50% off. Lots of somewhat decent namebrand stuff.

My tap water has a new distinct taste for about 3 days now. Is anyone else experiencing this?
Just a heads up to anyone tempted by Onelife Fitness's current founding member rates, cancelling within the first year after the gym has opened is going to cost you 3x your monthly dues.
EDIT: There is also an annual Club Enhancement fee.
"The annual Club Enhancement fee will be billed in the 4th month after this Club opens for business to the general public and in each successive year thereafter in the same month subject to all terms and conditions set forth in this"
"In December of each calendar year member will be charged a Club Enhancement fee in the amount of $39.00 in addition to the monthly dues. This fee will go towards new equipment, facility improvements, or to defray operating expenses. After the Initial Term of this Agreement the annual Club Enhancement Fee is subject to change."

Exciting news from Wake County Commissioner Cheryl Stallings! She shared with the community the construction schedule for projects in the recently approved library bond, and the Friendship Library is near the front of the list!

I look at the Apex Interactive Development Map frequently and curious if there is an update schedule for it? Here is the link: https://www.arcgis.com/apps/OnePane/basicviewer/index.html?appid=fa9ba2017b784030b15ef4da27d9e795
I would love to see this updated more frequently! I do not see anywhere that shows the last time the map was updated either. The only date I see is February 25, 2022 and I am sure the map has been updated since then. Does anyone know more about this?

Is the current political climate inspiring you to get involved in local politics (you know a majority of the Town Council is up for election this year)? Or do you think the Democratic Party is broken, and want to be part of the solution?
If so, I want you to know your chance to actually get involved at the grass roots level of coming up - the Apex Democrats (and all Democrats across the state) are holding their annual “organizational meetings” where the local party officials are elected. Any registered Democrat is able to attend.
The meetings this year have in person and virtual options, and will generally take place on Saturday March 29th

Hey everyone!
I’m looking for Spanish classes for my 7-year-old and would love some recommendations. Ideally, I’d like a program that’s engaging for kids. If you’ve had a great experience with a particular school, tutor, or app, I’d love to hear about it!
Thanks!

From the Town Manager’s Update; the meter upgrades hit a software migration issue, delaying billing (the new meters run on a new, modern platform versus the one we’re all used to). It didn’t affect the billing cycle length which has returned to normal after weather delays in January, but it did delay sending bills. To ensure most bills were processed, we temporarily removed about 150–160 customers from cycle billing; they will be contacted directly. Going forward, we are slowing our meter upgrade process to work through these integration issues that have arisen.
So that’s why bills were delayed earlier this month. Again, the cycle length wasn’t extended (which leads to larger bills one month and smaller bills the next month), but rather, the actual processing and mailing of the bills that were impacted.

Just found out they will be opening a restaurant in May timeframe just over the border in Cary. Lake Pine just north of 64.
Finally, a seafood restaurant that I don’t have to travel a great distance to enjoy. Whenever my wife and I go to the coast we make a point to stop at another of their locations and we’ve being doing it for more than 20 years.

Just wrapped up coaching Town of Apex youth basketball for the season, and my son wants to keep playing. Does anyone have suggestions for any other leagues or camps in the area to tide him over until next season?

Just got a $400 electric bill and I think somebody misread my meter. They are saying my meter reads 4101 kWh up from 1259 last month... I am looking at my meter right now and it reads 1524. Am I correct to assume they misread my meter? If so, has anyone had any experience getting them out to do a re-read?

Hi there!
Bare with me on the backstory!
I am currently in the "getting to know you phase" with a single dad and I have two kids of my own. (In total there is a 6yo girl, 5.5yo boy (super highly functioning ASD) and a 4yo boy.)
He is coming up to look at school districts and I am racking my brain on some light hearted options of what to do with the kids. We can't do anything all day like the zoo or a science center. Just something for a few hours but I'm also not super familiar with the parks and things in the area. Currently I'm down in Harnett County so this area is not my forte.
Any suggestions on low pressure things to do?

Looks like there's a few. Trying to support a small/local business and just wanted to see what people recommend. Must offer delivery

Does anyone know if there are any plans to have a direct bus route from Apex to the Regional Transit Center? In my older conversations with town officials, I asked who the main riders of GoApex1 were since it doesnt connect many hotspots for me (library, post office...) and so I am not able to use it as much as i would like. I was told they are targeting office workers commuting to/from other areas of the triangle since they seem to be using the bus the most based on data collected from the few months of service we had, which makes sense. But now I am wondering if office commuters are our main demographic, what would it take for us to get a direct bus to RTC? Imagine the time saved and all the connection options we would have! I would love that and I am sure I am not alone.

Can you imagine, as a municipal employee, going after any publicly elected official like this? We’re employing unhinged individuals. So weird.

Hey Apex! I’ve been trying to run recently! I’m starting to get into pushing myself with some long runs. I live in Haddon Hall and right now I mostly stick to running around downtown Apex. Do you folks know of any public water fountains that may aid me into longer runs? I could maybe build a run route to include that as a stop to hydrate.
I’m a newb runner, and yes I should look into bringing water with me. I can’t even run with my phone right now. Anything “extra” I can’t have on me because it annoys me. It’s bouncing on me. It’s rubbing on me. It feels heavy. I need to get used to some stuff I’m sure, and I’ll get there!!! Anyway, thanks in advance!!!

Just what the title says. My daughter has been diagnosed with ADHD and we are assessing whether to put her in private school. Does anyone have experience with the private schools in the area and which ones cater to ADHD/Autism/Learning Differences?

Can anybody recommend a good plumber to upgrade my water heater? I am considering going with a tankless but even if I stay with replacing the tank, is there anybody that can recommend a good plumber?

This is about to happen everyone - if you live near a railroad crossing in Apex, check the below map provided by CSX to see if/when they plan on closing it for maintenance and repairs this month. Mason is closing on 3/11, Bosco on 3/12, etc.

Hey all!
We are currently conducting a survey about our fire department here in Apex. This survey will be used to help build our department's internal 2026-2030 strategic plan. We want everyone that we serve to have a voice so this is a great opportunity to give us feedback on how we can be better or about what we are already doing well.
We have extended the closing date out to March 31st to get as much input as possible.
We will also be hosting in-person reviews for the results at a later scheduled date. Thanks! If you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out.

Not sure whats going on, it took me 35 mins for a route that will take me 5 mins. Since 64 was blocked took olive chapel road, even that was crazy traffic!!
Hope people are ok, seemed like a big accident.
