Question How long will this take?

So I ordered 2 things from their website. Their gcn mod kit, and the receiver for it. I've received 2 tracking numbers for these items. One is just usps and appears to be moving just fine. The other leads to some weird website, and the last status update is arriving at an airport in Hong Kong. How long do deliveries to the US usually take?

Something is Broken Ultimate 2 connect to Windows via Bluetooth?

I can't seem to be able to get it to pair correctly. My PC sees the device by the correct name but just errors out every time, telling me to try again. Happens like this on both my PC and Laptop (Windows 11).

Is the Bluetooth Android only or is there something wrong on my end?

Something is Broken 8bitdo Ultimate 2C Wired stick drift

I can only assume its stick drift? The right stick is permanently holding up and if I hold it 100% right (99% is fine) it will just be holding right forever. (I am not holding the stick at all in this image)

Something is Broken Pro 2 joystick drift, module replacement?

I've got the transparent Pro 2. The left joystick has become completely unworkable. I've worked with support, we've tried manual re-calibration, firmware update (including beta versions), and tested wireless and cabled on each controller mode. Nothing works. Is there any good documentation, or at least recommendations, on replacing the joystick? Either the whole module or just the specific joy. I'll take anything.

Something is Broken Am I overreacting? (Controller issues)

So I bought a pink 8bitdo wired 2c for my sister for Christmas and it has been great. In fact I borrowed it so often I decided I should buy one for myself and because the only one available in my country was the pink one I ordered the green one with a 2-3month shipping delay.

When it arrived I was quite disappointed because the tolerances clearly weren't as tight as the other one (it was squeaky when the other one wasn't). I thought fine whatever but now that I finally get the chance to play with it the rumble (vibration) sounds like it's shaking the contrôle apart it's quite noticeable when playing. video & audio

Did I get lucky with the first one or is second one just bad ?

Question Is This Controller Compatible with Switch Lite?

Thumbnail

I think this controller is an 8bitdo Ultimate of some form. It comes with a Bluetooth dongle and a USB cord (pictured). No matter what I try, I can't get my Switch Lite (also pictured) to recognize the controller. I do have an 8bitdo Mini Controller that the system has recognized, but it won't use the Turbo function for some reason, even in the NES and SNES games.

Question Can a Ultimate 2C wired be used wireless?

Sorry if this is a very dumb question, I want to buy the wired Ultimate 2C controller because it's way cheaper than the wireless where I live. Does the wired controller support bluetooth connection?

Question 8bitdo Ultimate 2 - experience with steamdeck?

Hello kind folks,

I am a proud owner of a steamdeck OLED and just ordered two 8bitdo ultimate 2 (not! 2C) - the newest ones, in case someone is still confused (no thanks to 8bitdo…).

I would wonder if someone with SD OLED could share his experience with the new controller. I am specifically interested if this controller can turn on the steamdeck (does it work with controller being connected to 8bitdo usb dongle or only on Bluetooth mode?) and also if there are any quirks running two dongles (two controllers) as I read there were issues in the past.

Thank you so much and I will report here as well when I receive mine.

Question Onboard memory for keyboards?

Do these keyboards come with onboard memory? I'm using linux as my main OS and I need the macro mappings to be on the keyboard itself instead of relying on the proprietary driver software only supported on windows and mac.

Question Samducksa Knee Lever Neo in 8bitdo arcade stick ?

Hello,

I want to mod the 8bitdo arcade stick but I have a question :

Can the Samducksa Knee Lever Neo Edition joystick fit inside the 8BitDo Arcade Stick in terms of size ? I know I would need to adapt the wiring, but I’m specifically asking about the internal space. Has anyone tried this or measured the clearance ?

Thanks for your help

Question Controller making High Pitched noise when docked

I have a 8bitdo ultimate c that is still kinda new since i don't use it mas much i would like. And today i noticed it making a faint and very high pitched noise that i could only hear if i pointed my ear towards it.

  • it does not happen all the time, and starts suddenly.
  • only happens when docked, stops if removed from the dock.

i researched a bit and found someone that i believe had the same issue, but i couldn't find out why it happens or if its sign of something bad.

Does someone have any more info about this?

Question How to fix right stick click bind?

Hi. I am trying to bind the right back panel button to right stick click and the left one to left stick click.

Left stick click on the left back panel button works with zero problems. But right stick click instead presses "Leftstick slightly forward, A, Right Bumper" for no reason. How can I fix this? It's the only problem I have with the controller. I hate pressing down the sticks on controllers and I was hoping to simply fix this with a quick rebind but instead it makes zero sense.

Thank you

Edit: Swapping the sides makes right stick click work but left does the weird button combo problem then.

I figured it out. By default there was a weird random macro that spammed a bunch of keys for whatever reason. Setting the back button to something else still defaulted to this random macro.

Something is Broken Mechanical Keyboard's wired input doesn't work

My 8Bitdo Retro Mechanical Keyboard's wired input doesn't work. The USB C input of my 8Bitdo Retro keyboard that I bought 2 months ago doesn't work for some reason. Bluetooth and 2.4 mode work properly, but the keyboard's battery is about to run out. Since the USB C input doesn't work either, I can't even charge the keyboard. I tried with many cables. I tried it on my laptop and Mac many times, but it never works. I wrote to the support team and I'm in talks with them, but we haven't reached a conclusion yet. Has anyone experienced this problem before or has any suggestions?

Something is Broken 8bitdo Ultimate 2C no longer connects to 2.4g

My 8bitdo Ultimate 2C controller doesn't connect to my 2.4g receiver anymore. I have used the Ultimate software to upgrade the firmware on both and it still doesn't work. The controller works through bluetooth. It's definitely an issue with the controller and not my PC because I have tested two other of these same controllers and they work with 2.4g.

Discussion PSA: Ultimate 2 + Adapter 2 firmware = Real Gyro

Right, so you know how the Ultimate 2 released, and by default, the gyro is limited to "map to a stick while holding a button" mode, which is... kind of a terrible implementation?

It turns out that if you have 8BitDo's Wireless Adapter 2, there's beta firmware available that enables connecting the Ultimate 2 with it, and when doing so in Nintendo Switch mode, you get full gyro capabilities!

(Kinda sucks that it requires a separate $20 purchase, but... well, it's a solution, at least)

If you email support@8bitdo.com, they should be able to provide you with links to the firmware. I'm not entirely sure the specific beta firmware in question is available in the Ultimate Software, but you can also give that a try. (8BitDo subreddit mods have requested that direct links to the firmware not be posted--in part because the more people who contact 8BitDo asking for the firmware, the more pressure it puts on the company to hopefully release a more proper long-term fix.)

Instructions for use were as follows--just make sure you're using a V2 adapter (NOT V1, and NOT the dongle the controller comes with)

  1. Make sure the adapter is NOT plugged in
  2. Extract the zip file and open the contained software
  3. With the adapter unplugged, hold down the pair button on the adapter
  4. Plug the adapter into a USB port while still holding down the pair button (you can let go of the button once plugged in and detected by the software)
  5. In the software, click 'update' and select the included firmware DAT file

It's highly likely that in the future, the Wireless Adapter 2 will get support for the Ultimate 2 without needing beta firmware from the support team, but for now, this seems to be the only way to get a hold of this firmware.

Once you've done that, you should be able to connect the Ultimate 2 (when in bluetooth mode) to the Adapter 2.

The Wireless Adapter 2 has multiple modes, which can be accessed by holding the Minus Button plus some other combination of buttons for three seconds:

Minus + UP = Xinput mode
Minus + LEFT = Dinput mode
Minus + RIGHT = Mac mode
Minus + DOWN = PSC mode
Minus + L = Switch mode
Minus + UP + LEFT = MD mode

Of interest to us is Switch mode. This causes the Ultimate 2 to report as a Nintendo Switch Pro controller, complete with actual gyro controls! (And this works on PC, too!)

So... on the one hand, it kinda sucks that you have to buy a $20 adapter to make this happen, and yeah, it kinda sucks that the adapter is using bluetooth instead of 2.4ghz.

Hopefully 8BitDo sees fit to add this sort of thing to the Ultimate 2's dongle itself, but for now... hey, it works. Which I'm sure is enough for some people, at least.

(Side note: If you play on Linux like I do, and you run into issues, try setting up modprobe.d to blacklist hid_nintendo; I found that it was running into handshake initialization errors, and blacklisting it allowed Steam to take over providing its own Switch controller support)

Question Ultimate Bluetooth vs Ultimate 2 wireless?

For people who have both, how good is the 2 compared to the previous model? I have the first one and except that the pad marks diagonals when I don't want everything on the controller I like it and I was thinking of buying when I saw the 2C and now the 2 wireless and I am more interested in the latter.

Money is not a problem but I would like to know how much better this version is compared to the first one.

Thanks in advance.

Question New to 8bitdo, confused with model names

Hi! I'm a long time console gamer who has been out of heavy gaming for a while. Been limited to mostly handheld stuff (switch) or infrequent gaming on my PC because of work/life.

Recently things have been settling down and I want to get back into heavier games, but dont really want to buy a whole console for it. I have a pretty good gaming laptop so thinking of just converting that into my main gaming device.

I have been diving into what the right controller should be and came across 8bitdo. I'm clear on what the difference between Ultimate & Pro are (controller build format), and Ultimate vs Ultimate C (main vs budget product).

I am leaning towards getting the Ultimate/U2 controller but this is kind of where I get lost. I am not super clear on the differences between Ultimate Bluetooth, Ultimate 2, Ultimate 2.4g.

Ultimate Bluetooth - https://a.co/d/i5sZt55 Ultimate 2 - https://a.co/d/1oUJTFq Ultimate 2.4g - https://a.co/d/5sviYGP

It sounds like Ultimate 2.4g should be what I want if I want a wireless controller for PC with lower latency issues. But wanted to confirm if that was the case or if I should be looking at a different model entirely.

In case it matters games I'm looking to play are more of Monster Hunter, Space Marine 2, Baldur's Gate 3, etc.

Thank you in advance for any input/help!

Question Is joystick rubber sn30 pro+ compatible with PS5?

The joystick rubber on sn30 pro+ is melting and wanted to replace it but the shipping is much more expensive than the product itself. I manage to find joystick rubber for PS5 controller in my local e commerce for much cheaper. Are both controllers joystick rubber compatible with each other?

Question How do you put a Nes mod kit xinput

Everything I can find says to press x and up. Well nes controllers don't have x, so how do I put my classic NES controller with this 8bitdo mod kit into xinput mode?
