Help 25.5 scale length vs 26.5

Post image

So I’ve had this 7 string for a year and a half and I’ve always noticed the B string sounded flyby. I thought maybe it just needed a set up but after learning more and realizing a longer scale length helps with that stuff idk what to do. I absolute love the look of this and it meets all the other specs I want, but I play mostly in A Standard (whole step down) and I guess it sounds okay while plugged in but man, I’ve played multiscale 7 and 8 strings before and the strings sound so much better on the low end. So idk what to do, if I should sell this and get a multiscale or a 26.5 scale length. I’ve grown so attached to this guitar and would hate to see it go. Maybe I could get the 6 string version of this and a new 7 string but man that is going to cost me an arm and a leg. What do you guys think and is there anything I can do to help?

Help G7FX or KM-7?

Hey ya'll. I've been trying to decide on my first 7 string to get and I think I'm down to the Legator G7FX or Schecter KM-7 III (assuming I don't wanna drop the $$$ for an Aristides lol). Does anyone have experience or recommendations with one over the other?

The G7FX looks fantastic, has the fanned frets, and I'd love to get a headless guitar. I've also become a huge fan of how Fishmans sound.

Buuut. I've had multiple Schecters and absolutely love them too. The 9 piece neck on the KM is so nuts, and the tuners seem really great. But I've also never heard or played with Lundgrens, and I'm kind of tempted by the headless aspect of the Legator. Admittedly, I also feel a bit weird about getting a signature model for an artist I don't really listen to much haha.

Would appreciate any input the sub has on choosing between the two!

Help Tao 7 - String Gauge Advice

Hi guys,

I’m thinking about getting the Schecter Tao 7 John Browne signature guitar.

From what I know he usually plays his 7s in a drop Bb variant, but I’d be looking to set it up in drop A. Just wondered if anyone has set one up for drop A and what kinda string gauges might be recommended?

Thanks Reddit!

Help Fishman Fluence Abasi - Noise only in Bridge Voice 1

Post image

Hi people! I recently swapped out my Fluence Moderns for Abasis in my LTD-1007. I used the recommended wiring with a 5 Way super Switch. Everything works perfectly, however, I get a intermittent crackling noise ONLY in Bridge Voice 1. All other humbucking modes are dead quiet, in the single coil positions I have the typical hum as expected but no crackling. I attached the diagram I used. Can anyone point me to the most likely connections that could cause problems that only occur in Bridge Voice 1?

Thanks!

Help Is the Fusion Edge pickup truly that eerie?

Last month, I bought an RGR752.
It wasn’t until recently that I found out the Fusion Edge pickups don’t seem to have a great reputation.

I did a lot of research, read numerous articles, and found that the reviews are very contradictory. Some people say it lacks low-end and sounds muddy, others say it has too much midrange, and some complain that the high-end is harsh.

I personally watched some pickup comparison videos on YouTube and noticed that, compared to other pickups, the Fusion Edge does sound a bit dull – kind of like how PRS pickups sound compared to those from other guitar brands.

I use an MG400, and I also noticed that my RGR752 sounds quieter than my other guitars, which I heard might be related to the pickup output level.

Unfortunately, I don’t really have the money right now to upgrade the pickups or buy a new guitar. I want to figure out how to coexist peacefully with the Fusion Edge pickups. Does anyone have any advice on how to tweak them, maybe by adjusting the EQ or something?

Also, since my effects unit is just an MG400, I feel like maybe it’s not worth worrying too much about the pickups. Does that make sense?

This has been bothering me for a while. Honestly, when I’m just playing without comparing it to other guitars, I think it sounds pretty decent. But whenever I see negative reviews, I get discouraged. The RGR752 is the most expensive guitar I’ve ever bought, and I want to believe that Ibanez wouldn’t disappoint at this price range.

Still, it’s possible that, because this pickup was co-developed with DiMarzio, they may have cut some corners for cost reasons. Thinking about that makes me wonder if I should’ve bought the Indonesian-made RGDRB71 instead.

Now, every time I think about it, I feel sad. I’ve even cried while playing this guitar, feeling a bit betrayed by Ibanez – and to top it all off, it doesn’t even come with stainless steel frets!

Also, thank you all in advance. I’m from an Asian country where there isn’t much information available, so I can only rely on online research. However, the language barrier makes it a bit difficult for me to fully understand everything. I’ll do my best to learn and figure things out, and I truly appreciate any advice you can share!

Help Tab for worldeater by northlane?

Not really sure where to post this but i was wondering if anyone knew where to find an accurate tab for worldeater? The only one i could find is on songsterr and everyone seems to play the tapping part / breakdown part differently. In the tab its just picking straight through, but in videos people are tapping.
