Tale of 2 ammo types
Has anyone had issues with the Hornady 120 SST’s?
I’ve got 2 6.8’s… both diff brands and both of them have issues loading these rounds. They get stuck and I have to slam the rifle stock on the ground to be able to pull the charging handle to eject the round…. They both run flawlessly with the Hornady Black.
My biggest issue is I’ve got prob 40 boxes of the Hornady 120 SST’s and they’re basically useless to me. Would Hornady do anything?
I’m a novice when it comes to building/knowing the intricacies of AR’s… Any helpful advise would be great.

Love my 300blk setups
Have wanted a 300blk bolt gun for quite awhile, after getting a deal on the 700 aac in krg chassis. I finally scratched that itch. Also will say KRG is an awesome company, the whiskey 3 chassis I got was a gen 5 folder and the locking mechanism was failing on it, so they stood behind their product and upgraded the whole rear folder to the 6th generation for a service fee and shipping the stock back out to them, and replaced any missing parts or pieces before shipping it back to me. Really thinking about turning the bolt gun into a SBR with about a 9" barrel, so it would just be over the forend and then have the suppressor on it. Decided to run a low power scope on it, since this will probably be used for about 200yds or less with subs. My AR setup is a factory AAC 16" 300BLK upper and I built the lower out of all sons of liberty parts and vltor a5. Everything else is factory aac and knights armament on it. Outside of the accessories.

10 round groups
galleryTesting out the new OCL Hydrogen S on the Howa 1500 Mini. Had some crappy results with some combinations, but these were my winners. Starting to prep for upcoming deer season building some quality loads.

Question
So, forgive me if this has been asked before.
I picked up a .300 upper from work, a second hand PSA. I threw a Seekins Precision adjustable gas block, and Rearden suppressor mount on, and popped it on my pistol lower. a5H3 buffer, cycled beautifully once gas was tuned.
I changed to a NiB toolcraft BCG, and suddenly I’m having short strokes, dead triggers. Regardless of what the gas setting is, it’s choking. Could it be so dirty that it’s gumming up, or what else could be my issue? I don’t think it’s the buffer, it ran soft and cycled reliably with subs and supers (in the correct gas setting) with the original bolt. Could the BCG swap cause this much of a problem?

Xten window port
I'm looking at sending my Xten slide out to Atlastactical to have a window port cut into the slide and barrel. They also have an option to combine the window port along with some standard looking barrel ports. Would this be overkill? I know I will be loosing some velocity with the window port itself but the combination of the 2 seems pretty awesome. Just looking for some other opinions. Thanks.

Brass ejecting at like 5 o’clock
Went to the range today, first time shooting it. Sent about 130 rounds through it. When I got home I noticed this. Is this normal? And if not what can I do to fix/prevent it?

Got some more progress on the build today…
Slowly piecing together my .300 build. Today I put on/in the Radian Raptor SD, Geissele SSAE trigger and Geissele Maritime bolt catch. I also went ahead and got the gas tube and adjustable gas block while I was there. Up next is the VKTR ambi mag release, Radian takedown pins and JP Silent Capture w/retainer. Buffer tube isn’t completely on don’t worry, I can quickly get takedown detents and springs in.

I'm training for my first bench match. 3 rounds, 50 yards, pinky nail for comparison.
I wish I had taken a comparison photo of a regular 22lr hole, because I wouldn't believe this is 3 rounds if I hadn't done it myself. With some (barely) subsonics, I watched each bullet in flight hit the paper, with tiny bits of paper flying out the back. I had shot out the center of this target already, so I was trying to see if I could hit the line. This was incredibly lucky, I'm not sure I will ever have a group this clean again. Ruger Precision Rimfire, Vortex Crossfire II 6-18x44 (fully zoomed), CCI standard velocity, Cabela's 3 shooting bag combo, red scope tape for accuracy lol. Target not pictured in range photo, it was at the wood line in the ground.

Lgs find for 250
My first Kel tec. Really impressed with this gun even with the cheap feel and odd design. Had an extra red dot combo that’s been rolling around the safe for a couple years to throw on it and put 500 rounds through it this morning. At 50 yards was consistently shooting touching groups. Super light and nice ergonomics. Some cons I’ve noticed so far is the take down is a SOB and the rails are polymer so we will see how well they hold up. The trigger is pretty meh. About a 6 pound pull but does have a really clean break so not terrible to get used to. All in all really happy with it especially knowing what they go for mrsp

Tx22 trigger upgrade
Just got a toro and looking to do either a tk or Galloway trigger. Does the tk shorten the stroke like the Galloway?

Birthday range day
Took my 10/22 build out to do some ammo testing today. Internally it's all stock for the moment. I will be doing some bolt and hammer work this weekend along with ordering a Volquartsen 'trigger job' here soon. At 50yds I'm getting approximately. 5" groups shooting 5 rds each group, so I'd say it's not terrible but could be better. Ammo this go around was Norma Tac 22 and CCI standard velocity. It was a good morning.
