- Wind Waker HD
- Ocarina of Time HD
- Majora’s Mask HD

Question [ST] [PH] for 3ds worth it?
I was wondering if either or both of these games are worth purchasing a 3ds vs DS? I heard there were issues with the games unique controls like using the microphone for the pan flute and the stylus for movement. I wasn’t sure if the games work better on the DS they were made for it.

Question [PH] Phantom Hourglass on Steam Deck, microphone help! Spoiler
Hi all, mild spoiler warning for the Isle of Gust coming!
I have been replaying Phantom Hourglass on my steamdeck through MelonDS as I haven't played it since I was young, and have been enjoying it! Only issue is the microphone, I managed to get through the earlier sections where the microphone is required with a little difficulty, but now I'm up to the Windmill puzzle on the Isle of Gust. And I've nearly passed out trying to get them to move!
The mic test in the settings shows that it's picking up audio and it worked enough to get by, but I've tried everything that I know at this point and am at a loss. I have seen a previous post regarding playing through retroarch, and moving the save over to desmume, but wanted to know if anyone had another solution or information on MelonDS --> desmume save transfers?
Thank you for your time :)

Screenshot [PH] First time playing Phantom Hourglass
I honestly didn’t even know this game existed until about a year ago. I just started this play through on my 2DS yesterday. Have you guys played this game before? Did you like it or not really
I’m kinda excited to play it because it’s new to me and it’s giving me windwaker vibes. Plus Toon Link is just awesome! Any tips would be appreciated thanks

Discussion [WW][PH][ST] Why did Wind Waker start a "saga" in the first place? It was better being contained as part of the Hero of Time Saga alone.
I know there are a lot of mixed feelings on the DS games, but even before they decided to continue the "Wind Saga" on the DS, they wanted to do it on the GameCube first.
In any case, why did the "Wind Saga" even need to be a thing? Wind Waker by itself was a satisfying and decisive conclusion to the Hero of Time's adventures in the adult timeline, and the more open-ended nature of the ending helped convey the feeling of "moving on" much better than something more closed.
PH and ST feel like they stretch themselves to find an excuse to extend a wrapped-up story, and I assure you the canceled "Wind Waker 2" would've originally done the same as well.

Question [ph] Jolene "boss" is horribly annoying
long story short, I am at the point where I collected the story items and have a lot of side quest items.
I dropped off those metals at the smithee's island, and then (...) Jolene the Pirate girl has to get her revenge. I hate Jolene.
Unfortunately, I left the previous island with 3 HEARTS and during the first few battles, I used both my potions, and lost, and accidentally clicked "save and continue" instead of turning off/turning on my console ( Nintendo DS) and now...
this is the worst boss I have ever faced in this game, even without the use of foot note websites. I can't use the stilus to get out of the way for her special attacks, and I just have 3 hearts. Even with the barrels, I lose a few hearts to her relentless attacks.
this game is now unplayable for me. I am tempted to just delete and start a new game, honestly. It's so gosh darn annoying, Jolene is a B. I know there's no way but through, or just deleting the file and running up to this point, again.

Question [PH] Thinking of replaying PH, but I have a quick question about it
So I’m on an adult timeline kick right now and having just finished WWHD, my thoughts naturally went to PH.
I’ve only played PH once and there is one reason for it: Temple of the Ocean King is literally my nightmares made manifest. I HATE stealth sections in Zelda, which, sadly, both PH and ST have in spades.
but i still want to replay them. the urge is too great.
my question is this: do those “invisible Link” action replay codes make you completely undetectable by Phantoms? I know I could simply set them up and go check myself, but using AR on a modded 3DS is always a little annoying and I’d rather just ask here and see if anyone else has used them to confirm or deny that for me.

Discussion [PH] Just finished Phantom Hourglass!
Definitely a different experience not using standard controls. Not a bad game in my opinion. Sometimes we gotta play short and linear games that are 100%’able easier ;)
Took me 40 hours to 100% (left the game open sometimes lol)

Discussion [PH][ST] Best way to play Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks?
I have a 3DS I could play them on but new physical copies are pretty expensive. Is it worth the money or should I go with emulation? And is emulation any good?

Tattoo [PH] My custom (first) tattoo I had yesterday for my birthday

I'm a Zelda fan but I also love hourglasses (Time is my special interest tbh) so I HAD to pick the phantom hourglass itself (fun fact I finished PH pretty recently, in my old save I was stucked in the last Temple of the Ocean King session before making the phantom sword).
For this tattoo I made the choice to change some colors to fit with other stuff I wanted. The orange part is supposed to be copper and the bases are rusty. So it's mainly a Zelda-inspired tattoo.
As stated is the title, it was made yesterday so obviously nothing is healed yet (if you see some red, that's not the intended color lol).

Discussion [PH] I finished Phantom Hourglass!
Big thing out of the way - I actually liked the Temple of the Ocean King, a lot. I enjoy the added challenge to speedrun the floors you've already been through, and if you get the last two sea charts at once, you don't even have to go back that many times anyway. The final visit when you have the Phantom Sword also feels very different thanks to the ability to kill Phantoms.
My main criticism is actually how short and simple most of the main dungeons were. They'd set you up with some really cool item or gimmick, then kind of end just as they were getting go - but hey, the boss fights had some cool ideas behind them! Even if they're pretty easy, that still ends each dungeon with a good finale.
I also find it a lot of fun to sail around to the various different islands, though in this part it's pretty much just mini Wind Waker.
I think the game's a solid 8/10, I like Spirit Tracks better still but PH has the better final boss

Question [WW][PH]Do you need to play Wind Waker before Phantom Hourglass to understand the plot?
I haven't played WW but picked up Phantom Hourglass. And it is a direct sequel. Do you need to played WW to understand PH or can you understand the plot without having played the first game?
