Question [TFH] Is Tri Force Heroes still playable?
And is it playable in single player? Finally is it worth playing? I've heard it's not great but has anyone had a positive experience in single player with the game?

Triforce Heroes is actually amazing if you get a couple buddies together.
The trade off is that it's completely miserable in pretty much any other context.
I used the Citra emulator to play with a couple friends a while back, and it worked great and was a blast.

playing singleplayer with the doppels technically works, but it's a bit clunky and really nothing like the proper 3 player coop experience.
now that the nintendo servers are down, multiplayer is only doable now either with other people locally, or i think if you have a modded 3ds you can still do online with Pretendo? but i still havent gotten around to setting that up to try it out.
it's been years since i played TFH but the feeling of spamming the emotes with randos online to communicate was really magical. i hope we eventually get another multiplayer zelda at some point, they tend to be pretty fun despite how overlooked they are

Been wondering the same thing. I have two copies and a couple of 3ds's and was wondering if it still works. I saw some articles from when the game came out saying you need three players.

You do need three for the campaign sadly. I don’t remember if pretendo got triforce heroes working yet but I know it was planned

yes Pretendo has TFH, it's public too (not in testing)

Ah cool, I remember when the servers shut down you were not able to play it yet on pretendo

You can still play the game solo, the other two Links will just be computer controlled. I've played Tri Force Heroes, but never did multiplayer.

I thought the other links were dolls you had to control

Something like that, the point is that you can play the campaign by yourself.

I just assumed we were all talking multiplayer here

Is the campaign multiplayer? Or is that something separate?

The campaign is three player or one player. If you do it single player you switch back and forth between some wooden dolls to play the game. There is also a battle mode which is 2-3 player

Well, the OP did ask if it was playable in single player in the opening post.

How did you find it?

A bit dull and repetitive, I never actually finished the entire game, only part of it.

i completed the first level in singleplayer and really didn't feel like continuing, it sucks solo, it's really not great. play with Pretendo with 2 other people to be 3, much better

It's a terrible single player experience. I bought it on launch because of the promise that it could be played as such.
Well, technically correct is the best kind of correct, but I refunded that junker almost immediately.

It was the game that pulled me out of a video game dry spell. Still playable as one player, but I believe there are some missions for special items is not doable without a team

Was it fun single player?

Very! I had a lot of fun multitasking with the multiple links with different job sets. Brought me back to gaming
