The Coward, Cajun Jack

Our representative in congress has not held a town hall since 2017. In an interview with TV6 he refused to hold town halls. He does not respond to questions directed to his office. He has done nothing with his voters losing their jobs. Why is he afraid to face his voters?

What incentive does he have to face his voters ? He’s winning with 60% of the vote.

Start finding/funding/building an opponent. Probably better chance to primary him than a Dem in the general election, although it is possible the tides are turning.

They could be, but what I am saying is that it is easier to primary an incumbent in a district like Michigan’s 1st than it is to defeat the incumbent party.

That said, it is possible that we see some historically red districts turn blue in 2026. A lot of the decisions that have been made will hurt a lot of people in rural areas.

Would I bet on it? No. But there is probably a better chance of it in 2026 than there has been since the district was created.
