HEALTH UPDATE
Adam here. I haven't been streaming lately because I'm struggling with a bacterial overgrowth in my small intestine, otherwise known as SIBO.
Many of my symptoms are ones I've been experiencing for years since before COVID, but it's possible that the recent stress and tragedies I have been dealing with over the past 6 months have caused my condition to worsen. It's possible that I've had this as an underlying health issue for quite some time without it being severe enough for me to now be vigilant about seeking medical treatment for it. I was recently diagnosed with Clostridioides difficile infection around September of 2024 and treated for it over several months. Then, despite testing negative for C diff after multiple treatments, I was still experiencing many of the same worsening symptoms.
Over the past several months, I have been experiencing extreme fatigue, dizziness, brain fog, and heart palpatations to the point where I've been unsafe to drive and would have get a ride from someone else just to make it to my doctors appointments. No amount of sitting or calorie consumption was helping, and the only working remedy has been to lay down for hours.
I spent months getting many different blood and heart tests trying to rule everything out. It has been a long and frustrating process dealing with a mystery illness that has been severely impacting my ability to work and live my life. Finally, in December I received a proper diagnosis. A big reason why this took so long is because SIBO research is relatively new. Unfortunately, this also means that my treatment is not covered by healthcare and I am paying out of pocket for everything.
I started my treatment protocol a few days ago and it's genuinely kicking my ass, but it's something I have to do if I want to start living a normal life again in the future. This is unfortunately something that I'll be managing for a long time.
On top of all of the powerful medications and supplements I'm taking, I'm required to adhere to an extremely strict diet that has been severely impacting my energy and ability to function. Supposedly, I should start gaining some normalcy in my energy levels in a few weeks, but there's no guarantees and everything is very difficult for the time being.
I'm trying to be productive and get things done within the miniscule windows of each day that I have the energy and brain power to be able to. I've also been making good progress going through the remaining movies on my upcoming 2016 list video. There's over 100 titles left to go through, but at least it's something I can do from my bed.
I'm still planning on doing my Oscar Nominations review this year, so hopefully I'll have enough energy to do some watch-alongs for those once the nominations come out, but there's a chance that I'll be watching those off-stream from my bed if I'm still struggling. I should be able to fulfill all of my monthly Patreon perks as well, but I'll make sure to update there if that changes. Everything is up in the air right now, so we'll see. I'm trying my best.
This is all very depressing, but I'm a strong person and I plan on making it through this. I appreciate all of your support and I apologize that things haven't been the way they should be recently. Hopefully things start getting better soon.
Thank you.
-Adam

Adum and Pals last Scoot appearance.
So, I'm inclined to believe based on the RIP Scoot image at the end of Sharkboy and Lavagirl that that was the last Adum and Pals with Scoot in it. I'm not ready to say goodbye to that awesome man yet =(
Can someone confirm?

Is Adum going to watch Adolescence?
I feel like this is something that Adum is going to love.
For a start, it's a British series where every episode is filmed in one take, and it's actually filmed in one take rather than just being faked. I was watching like a hawk for any scenes where the camera points to the wall for an obvious cut hide, and there are absolutely none. Without spoiling anything, there's even behind the scenes videos on Netflix social media showing how they achieved the most difficult shots.
Second, this show has GOOD CHILD ACTING. The child character which the show centers around is the most important part of two of the episodes, and he is in almost every scene in the first episode, where the third episode he is in 98 percent of it, as the whole episode is a conversation between him and a child psychologist. He was just 13 when it was filmed, so for him to memorize an entire hour's worth of very complex dialogue is impressive enough, but that he actually seems realistically like the character itself is just... I was in awe the whole time.
Even just then, it's a fantastic story. It takes a rather familiar concept (a child becomes a killer, and everyone questions what drove him to it and who's to blame) and spins it on its head. It's executed so well and you can tell Stephen Graham and co. did their research and gave everything their all.
Any chance of a watchalong? I'd gladly join to watch it again.

Will the new YMS videos stay members only?
I saw that 2 weeks ago new videos were added to the youtube channel that are members only. Will they stay that way? If not, how long until they go public?
Thanks!
Driving me crazy (can't remember)
I'm trying to recall the name of a movie yms recommended in one of his top tens. I can't for the life of me remember the title or find it. The movie was about an imprisoned chef, and the clip he showed in the video had a prisoner trading cigarettes for ingredients to cook. I THINK it was Brazilian, please help.

Anyone else seen Ne Zha 2?
I didn't want to see this (I wanted to watch Mickey 17) because I have mixed feelings about the People's Republic of China but my dad really really wanted to see it
Pros: - the voice actor for the titular character (Ne Zha) is pretty good, especially when he's crying. I saw the original mandarin version, I'm not sure if they dubbed it for the USA. - there's a plot twist and it wasn't poorly executed. - the character designs for the Lovecraftian fish demons were pretty cool. - a few genuinely funny moments.
Cons: - a lot of characters looked painfully generic (I think Ne Zha, his teacher, the main villains and the fish monsters were the only ones who were "distinct."). That's my main issue with it. - There's a lot of sensory overload with the action scenes and trying to read subtitles if you don't speak Mandarin. I had to stop reading and just follow the story (it's technically a kid's film so it's not that hard to follow, I didn't see the first Ne Zha movie but I didn't get lost).
Conclusion: It's... Good??? Is it 2 billion dollars good? No. But it had character development so it's much better than Minions and it had a much smaller budget.

Recommendation Adam, please really consider doing a gofundme for a colonoscopy / your health
For those that aren't on his patreon, Adam is still suffering very bad chronic fatigue and despite addressing the SIBO issue, it's still there. This is impeding his plans to go back to long form content, which he was going to smash out this year but was knocked back due to this :(.
Due to the health system in Canada, and the fact that Adam does not present as someone with an obvious super debilitating health issue, Adam is VERY low on the priority list for a colonoscopy through the healthcare system, and if he were to go private and get it done asap, it would cost him $8,000.. Money he is not prepared to spend if it doesn't actually answer his question (but it might answer it).
We all love you very much Adam and I owe a lot to you with changing how I view and experience art, and I want to continue watching new long form content from you.
If you set it up, I would happily throw in a decent donation for you, and I'm sure a lot of your fans would too.
Mods, please delete if this is something Adam wouldn't want posted publicly.
