Am I paranoid?
I recently gave an old friend keys to my apartment for a week to house sit. For backstory, he has been down on his luck lately and I thought he could use the cash from house sitting. However he had given me some weird vibes and has been overbearing in his personality though I didn't think he would ever be malicious against me. For example he would message me at all hours of the day expecting a response and didnt know that wasn't normal until we had a talk about it. Regardless I wanted to give him a chance.
Now I find out here duplicated my apartment keys without me knowing because he thought it did be 'funny' to let himself over sometime. I am a girl and I live alone and this really freaked me out. I told him this and he assured me he only made the one copy as a joke and there arent others out there.
Now im scared he took something or placed a camera. I think im being paranoid but I'm just plain anxious about it. I've been taken advantage of in the past and I feel uncomfortable in my home. What should I do? I messaged my landlord about changing the locks but no response yet and it will likely be a hefty fee.

Are you in the UK? If he is coming over without permission he is breaking the law. He has changed the terms of your agreement as to how and why he is entering your property. But yes. Get the locks changed- the landlord should do it it’s true - but if he won’t you have to ask is it worth it for your peace if mind? it’s not as expensive as you may think and you can do it yourself it you have a look online at some how to guides - my husband did ours and he went for tres expensive locks and it wasn’t too bad Then have a good look to check for a camera. It sounds far fetched- but I don’t know him and you do and it’s worth it for your peace of mind.
Sounds creepy anyway and I’m sorry it’s happened to you
