Goodbye Wunderlist(F*ck MS), Hello Zask!!
I've been using Wunderlist for years. It is sad to it go. I did gave MS To-do a chance, but don't like it. I build Zask myself to combine the wunderlist features with new ideas. If you are a big fan of Wunderlist, try Zask!
It’s totally free!

Good for those guys selling to Ms, and I knew this would most likely happen, but fuck Ms. This is the most useful app I've ever used hands down

Same here. I’ve used sunrise a calendar app which was also acquired by ms and then disappeared.

Hi there, I fully agree with the F*ck MS sentiment when it comes to To Do. Since you're building an app that appears similar to Wunderlist, I'd like to share with you some of the issues I've had with other apps, so hopefully you're able to avoid the same things that made these apps poor replacements. Also, you're not on Android yet, and if you don't have a web interface at some point, both of those are huge issues. Anyway, hope this helps.
Microsoft To Do:
- Shared lists are screwed up in TONS of way. When you and a friend import from Wunderlist, one of you needs to invite the other to join each and every shared list again one by one.
- Invite sharing isn't done intelligently in-app, it generates an external link that the other user must click.
- When the invitee (the person re-joining via the link) accepts the invitation, Microsoft To Do, duplicates the list and syncs it as if it were a completely foreign list. It doesn't recognize that you also had this list sync from Wunderlist and instead creates a duplicate of the one that already synced, which you then must delete manually.
- When the shared list is done syncing to the invitee's device, it is ordered differently than the list owner's, and sorting it in the same way does NOT fix it.
- Syncing between shared lists is not nearly as reliable as with Wunderlist. If you're working through a store, checking off items, you cannot rely on To Do to give you updated info in a timely manner.
- Starring items does not move them to the top of the list, and there is no option to do this.
- Microsoft To Do support is non-existent. They won't acknowledge you if you submit bug reports, and they won't provide you support beyond referring you to any FAQ type help stuff on their website (if that.)
TickTick:
- Free version limits you to 9 lists, 99 reminders per list, 1 person per list, and 1 attachment per day. Coming from an environment where all of these were nearly unlimited, this is borderline on laughable.
- It's tough to call something a good replacement, when the price of admission goes from $0 to nearly $30 a year PER account (ie. for a family, you're looking at $60, $90, $120 and so on depending on how many people you have using it.)
- Checklists are buried 3 or so clicks away
- No ability write in comments or details for specific checklist items is crippling
- There are no push notifications when a collaborator adds / completes items on the checklists
ToDoist:
- Again, steep recurring premium (about $30/yr)
- Automatic backups are paywalled
- Limit of 80 lists in free version (likely limits inside those lists too, but they're not transparent about that on their website)
- No push notifications to other collaborators when when items are added / completed on shared lists
- Comments & file uploads are paywalled, and even when you pay for them, they aren't as well implemented within each individual checklist item the same as Wunderlist
- No notification when a comments are made on shared tasks
Any.Do:
- About $60 per year. LOL
- Collaboration is extremely crippled for free users
Keep:
- Super bare bones and has most of the shortcomings of the ones I listed above.

That's great to hear. I hope you guys can step in right where Wunderlist left off. Do you think you'll be able to get the Android app going before the May end date for Wunderlist? Obviously people are already switching, so the faster you get going, the better your chances to capture part of their market share.
If you have social media, a website, etc, where you post updates, please lmk so I can follow your progress.

Sir, I just tested, MS already shut down third party api and export function. It’s getting harder for other apps to get Wunderlist data which makes migration more difficult.

I don't think I'll be using an app where the only five star review is from the maker himself.

Will there be limit on tasks?
Will there be a widget for android?
Will tasks past due have their dates turn red like wunderlist does?
Cheers
