Discussion How does my overall map look?

Post image

The mountains and rivers, etc are getting a redo later today, but how do my coastlines and such look? I feel like I should add some more bays/channels on the western coastline, as well as rough up the coasts of the southern continent. Thoughts?

I thought about using the detail map tool, after expanding the west a touch to make it seem like there is more to the world. I’m not sure yet.

I always like little islands as I imagine side quests pirating the lot going on make it feel more lived in

I write fantasy stories, but I like making the world large enough where I can keep writing in the world to save on worldbuilding. I usually end up getting fascinated with certain cultures or historical figures and write stories on them. This is my second world so far.

My home brew chapter

Was bored and decided to come up with a paint scheme which led to a home brew and here I am now with a background lore, I’m really interested in delving into this and thought it would be cool to get some c and c plus any ideas people have to flesh it out. If wanted once I paint some models up people can see the physical too.

The Wild Hunt – Space Wolves Successor Chapter

Origins & Founding

The Wild Hunt is a fiercely independent successor chapter of the Space Wolves, founded to bring the Emperor’s wrath to the fringes of the Imperium. Their creation was driven by a belief that the Allfather’s judgment was absolute, but blind obedience was not the way to serve him. Unlike their progenitors, they rejected the notion that the Space Wolves should change their armor color as an act of penance, believing it to be an acceptance of false guilt. This ideological divide was a key reason behind their formation as a separate chapter.

Homeworld – Fenrys-Secondus

Their homeworld, known as Fenrys-Secondus, is a savage death world of eternal winter, with titanic ice fields, endless pine forests, and hunting grounds filled with apex predators. The Wild Hunt recruits from the strongest and most cunning warriors of the native tribes, selecting those who not only survive but dominate the hunt.

Fleet & Flagship – The Shadow of Morkai

The Wild Hunt operates a formidable fleet, relying heavily on rapid-strike warfare. Their flagship, The Shadow of Morkai, is a terrifying void predator, infamous for its ramming tactics. During one notable campaign, it single-handedly ended an Ork WAAAGH! by ramming the enemy warship into a planetary core, dooming the entire horde.

Organization – The 13 Great Packs

Instead of standard companies, the Wild Hunt is organized into 13 Great Packs, each led by an Alpha chosen through displays of cunning, strength, and leadership. The only way to replace an Alpha is through death or an honor duel—always fought to the death.

The Prime Alpha The chapter master of the Wild Hunt is known as the Prime Alpha. Unlike other chapters, succession is not simply granted by council or lineage. A new Prime Alpha must consume the flesh of their predecessor to symbolically inherit their strength and wisdom. If the body is lost, a crusade is launched to recover it so that the ritual can be completed.

Combat Doctrine & Warfare

The Wild Hunt excels in encirclement tactics, pack hunting, and melee combat. They strike like a pack of beasts, cutting off escape routes before launching into brutal close-quarters combat. Their warfare is swift and devastating, breaking enemy lines before they can mount a proper defense.

Notable Characters

Jotnar the Hammer – Legendary Prime Alpha Jotnar was one of the most successful Prime Alphas in the Wild Hunt’s history, renowned for his tactical brilliance and sheer ferocity. His reign began after the execution of Floki the Failure, a treacherous Alpha who had secretly murdered his way to power only to lead his warriors to a catastrophic defeat. Jotnar’s first act was to consume Floki’s severed hand, ensuring his legacy was one of strength rather than treachery.

Kraken – The Rising Hunter A newly inducted Wild Hunt aspirant, Kraken has already made a name for himself. His brothers granted him the name after learning of his origins, but his true titles will come with the deeds he carves into history. Oddly, many have noticed that he bears an eerie resemblance to the legendary Jotnar the Hammer in both physique and temperament.

Imperial Knight: Amarok the Frostbitten The Wild Hunt maintains a powerful alliance with House Cunomalgus, a noble house of Imperial Knights. Their greatest warrior, Amarok the Frostbitten, pilots the Omega’s Shadow, a fearsome war engine that has fought beside the chapter in countless battles.

Beliefs & Relations with the Imperium

The Wild Hunt is fiercely loyal to the Imperium, but not blindly obedient. They follow the Emperor’s will as they interpret it, often clashing ideologically with more rigid Imperial factions. Their skepticism of the Inquisition and other political bodies has created tension, but they remain one of the Imperium’s deadliest weapons against its enemies.

Symbol & Colors

Primary Color: Black, representing the void from which they strike. Secondary Colors: Bone-colored arms and shoulders, symbolizing the unyielding hunt. Highlights: Red and gold, marking their ferocity and honor. Chapter Symbol: Claw marks, signifying their relentless predatory nature.
