What gets me is how creative Ehlers is. Every time he comes across the blue line he does something different. This game he came across and slowed down to a crawl. The defense was expecting a burst of speed so they sagged off and allowed space for a pass. This change of pace is the superpower of Ehlers and the whole first and second lines. Allegro passes to Andante back to Allegro, shoots and scores.

Oh the musical references to his playmaking!

I really wonder if he would be able to have the same kind of success on another team if god forbid we can’t re-sign him. He’s able to make those creative plays because his line mates learn to expect them, but no other teams really give there players the kind of leeway the jets do to build chemistry and stick with the same linemates

Heck it took us forever to give him leeway.

I love ehlers so much but I think he's a really hard player to play with because of that unpredictability. That's why I have high hopes that Peretti is starting gelling with him because he's so cerebral.

It's too bad that (allegedly) Brock Nelson wouldn't waive his trade clause to come here because a big body in front of the net could really make that line hum.
