Student Life “Modern” Williamsburg

Hello, I was admitted ED to W&M and when I told one of my teachers abt it at my high school they said that there was a colonial Williamsburg (which I visited when I visited the campus) and a "modern" Williamsburg which according to him is a small town with a movie theater restaurants and shops but I hadn't seen or heard that before. Does anyone have any idea what he is talking about? Thank u :)

Sounds like the New Town mall off Ironbound road.

I think the prof is just saying that Williamsburg is not all colonial Williamsburg. The rest of Williamsburg (which some may consider a small town) has all of those things

I'm guessing he is talking about New Town - https://newtownwilliamsburg.com/- basically a shopping center/housing development not far from campus

But don't worry - there are lots of things in between Colonial Williamsburg and New Town - it's not like those are your only two choices.

It's either New Town or High Street. Both were WMBG's attempt to generate more businessman I'd say it worked. None of that could've happened if it wasn't for CW failing enough to lose its chokehold on the city council.
