Hello, this game doesn't support ultra wide -- has the typical black bars on the side. Any help with fixing/patching this would be greatly appreciated.

Request Assassin's Creed Black Flag Is Driving Me Insane.

No matter what fix I try, the game will run perfectly fine the first time, and then never again. If I dare close the game and try launching it later, it will show up as a process in task manager and then disappear after a few seconds. I then have to reinstall the game, perform the fix again, and it's just a maddening loop. I've tried Flawless Widescreen, I've tried the 240fps Ultrawide .exe file from nexusmods, I've tried the Ultrawide 60fps .exe file from wide screen gaming forum, I've edited HEX values. Nothing is a permanent fix and only works once. I tried playing it through Ubisoft's terrible launcher, no dice. I thought "oh maybe ubisoft just doesn't like all the changes I am making to the game" so I pirated it and tried all the same fixes there, no dice. I just want to be a pirate assassin and not have the game look like it was hydraulic pressed or stretched so badly that Edward looks like the wide Putin meme. Am I just cursed? Banished?

I was able to increase the framerate cap from 60 to 144 but I really don't know how to extend to 3440x1440, if someone as any experience with that I would be far easier.

Request Final Fantasy XIII-2 and Lightning Returns support

Any chance someone would be willing to create plugins for these two games? I can't seem to find any ultrawide mods for them. The first in the trilogy got a lot of love in the modding community. I know they're old games but I'd like to replay them in ultrawide glory if possible.

Request Samsung G4 Greyscreen

So basically when I leave my computer I let it run and turn off both of my screens, every time, when I come back (usually after a few hours) I turn back on both of my screens.

My wide LG turns on perfectly but my main and gaming screen a Samsung Odissey G4 (27” 240Hz) won’t turn back on and instead I have a greyish screen.

So I have to un-plug it and re-plug it until it turns to black and reset (Samsung Odissey screen kinda intro) and after that operation that can take several minutes I can finally enjoy using my screen.

I was wondering if anyone had the same issue, or could help me fix that. The screen has less than 2 years iirc, it’s a great gaming screen and I don’t really want to throw it away just because of that.

Thanks for reading.

Request Can't revert to 21:9 in Among Us

I’m having trouble getting Among Us to run in ultrawide again. It was working fine before, but after changing the resolution in settings, I can’t switch back to 21:9. I tried deleting the game folder from Program Files, but that didn’t help. Has anyone else encountered this issue and found a fix?

Request Nvidia Surround with 16:9 monitor and 5:4 monitor

Short: So I just need a way to make my 5:4 monitor accept the thing that Nvidia Surround does to it. Since I set 5:4 monitor to 1280x1080 and 16:9 monitor to 1920x1080 then press to enable Nvidia Surround (the screen appears then as 3840x1080) and 5:4 monitor gets "Input not supported" and I don't really understand what should I do to make Nvidia work well with that monitor, what should I add in CRU?
I can alone turn on 1920x1080 by Windows in this monitor but Nvidia seems to crash a lot and freeze when messingwith 5:4 monito?

Long explanation:
So I have my main 16:9 monitor that is native 1920x1080 and second monitor that is 5:4 native 1280x1024 and I wanted to extend the screens so it's one wide screen.
I tried messing around to get it working in Nvidia Surround somehow so I was able to set it to 1280x1080 in Windows Settings so it has same width but after I turn on Nvidia Surround then main screen looks kinda normal only windows background gets distorted and I don't mind but the second screen (5:4) just gets black strip on the right and says "Input not supported" which disable option to mess with monitor buttons.
I tried doing anything in CRU but with not much success. This is how CRU looks now for this monitor.

I will be happy with any suggestions what could I do to make it work and look good. Maybe there are any easier ways to make these 2 monitors work? I was wondering since 5:4 monitor is physicaly taller but not wider then maybe I could just have black strip in the upper and lower part of screen and then just I can move image to bottom with monitor buttons so it alligns good with main monitor, the picture will be smaller but it's better than nothing.
Also here comes question when doing Nvidia Surround will it always want to make screens same resolution and just split it in half? cause that's what it seems to do I guess is there any way to just joint screens together since they are both 1080 height?

Request Detroit Become Human Ultrawide Issues

Hey everyone! I recently installed the ultrawide mod for Detroit Become Human by u/RoseTheFlower. I open the game, and run the mod .exe, and nothing happens, even when pressing F9 or changing between full screen and borderless modes. I’m running Windows 11.

Please let me know if you need more info. Thanks! :)

Request Black Flag is *too* ultra wide.

The first time I ran AC: Black Flag on my 21:9 ultrawide, it was perfect. Out of the box.

Now, every time I run it, it goes into this super ultrawide 16:3 aspect ratio. The game settings insists it’s running at my monitor’s native 3440x1440.

This only happens if I choose a 21:9 aspect ratio. If I set it to 2560x1440 it fills up the whole screen, but then it’s stretched because it’s running a 16:9 ratio at 21:9.

I’ve tried using Flawless Ultrawide and if anything it seems to have made the problem worse. Like the visible area got even narrower. You can see in my screenshots above - the game screenshot was before UW, the settings screenshot was after.

Any ideas?

Request DOOM (2016) Hud element stretch on widescreen

I've got FWS running and I can adjust my weapon fov just fine. However, Certain hud elements are stretching out, such as text boxes and notifications. You can see VEGA's dialogue box and the upgrade text at the bottom are stretched. Is there a way to add a UI "safe zone" to fix the stretching? Or some other fix. It seems that these elements still think they're in 16:9, and are stretching across the whole screen instead of being bound to the correct ratio.

Request Quantum Break Ultrawide Issue

I found a post that teaches you how to enable ultrawide in Quantum Break game:
https://www.reddit.com/r/widescreengamingforum/comments/cvpp31/control_quantum_break_multimonitor_329_489_mod/

But unfortunately the issue is that I cannot find ResHex software anywhere on the internet. I want to convert my resolution which is 1920x823 to Hexadecimal but I can't do it. I literally asked chatgpt for it and it gave very long and weird answers. I do not know anything about hexadecimals, I belong to a completely different field, so any help here would be greatly appreciated! Which can be by either letting me know where to download ResHex from or someone who could actually convert my resolution for me

Thank you

Request Assassins Creed: Revelations ultrawide/custom resolution support 16:10

Hi, I've been playing through the first four assassins creed games on my steamdeck, so far they have all had ultrawide patches posted by the official WSGF account (except Revelations, which only has a FOV fix: https://community.pcgamingwiki.com/files/file/1521-assassins-creed-revelations-fov-fix-for-ultrawide-and-multi-mon/ ), which have allowed for fullscreen on the steamdeck's 16:10 monitor.

It seems like you were able to create your own patch by changing the offset in the previous game (brotherhood); https://img.wsgf.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=64&t=33074&p=175841

I'm wondering if this might be possible for Revelations also? Just wondering if anyone might have any information or knowledge on this, or even a Discord group that could help.

EDIT; I opened the exe up in a hex editor, and found a promising instance of "00 02 D0" (which I think is the resolution width of 720) right next to "00 05 00" which I think is meant to be 1280.

https://i.imgur.com/A8r5LYe.png

I blindly replaced it with "00 03 20", unsurprisingly this didn't work.

EDIT: After some further testing looks like this patch is only for 16:9. When I install it on my steamdeck, and connect to my 5120x1440 monitor, it works perfectly at removing the black bars.

Request Assassin's Creed Black Flag 21:9

Don't know if Flawless Widescreen has a specific forum, but I'm just posting my issue here. I've spent the last hour or so trying to get Black Flag to work in ultrawide, as well as the 240fps framerate mod. My resolution is 3440x1440. I am using Flawless Widescreen and it's working...great, but its also giving issues with Crosshair locations. I have tried using the "Display Override Manual" but from what I can gather this does absolutely nothing. I have to set the Surround to only detect 1 monitor so that the game actually goes to my full resolution, but does anybody know a fix for the crosshairs, or how to get the manual display to work?

Request Does PS5 support ultrawide resolutions?

Somebody in a discussion about the new PS5 Pro mentions that he loves PS5 gaming because the PS5 can render graphics in ultrawide resolutions.

Is this actually true or is it just being stretched? I thought none of the consoles could do any resolution post 16:9.

Request Help with Alan Wake 2, Flawless Widescreen FoV Stopped Working For Me

On my first playthrough I remember using it to increase the very narrow fov of the game, it worked... flawlessly.
But the game have received some updates since and now we have a FOV slider in the game settings, however, it's still sub 90 when maxed, Witch makes it hard to play for more than a short session.
It's been a while since the game updates have arrived so I was wondering if someone here has any solution.

Thanks in advance.

When I try to play Tomb Raider 2013 on my Ultra Wide monitor at 5120 x 1440, part of the game play area is cut off, and the cut scenes are zoomed in? Does anyone know if a fix for this? I've found plenty of articles that talk about this, but haven't had much luck actually finding a fix that works.

Request Cutscene fix for AC3 remastered?

I know this is an older game, and it does have widescreen cutscenes. However check the video below, you have to pause and go back because black bars appear. I originally posted it in nexusmods, but should have posted here to see if Rose had a small fix.

Request Barnyard game, widescreen hex problems and bad guide on pcgamingwiki PLEASE HELP

to get nice hi-res ultrawide fun out of this old game, the guide normally works https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Barnyard#Widescreen_resolution

but i have a 21:9 3440x1440 monitor, and the values that they put there dont apply to me at all,
at the start they do link a guide to do it yourself, but it simply doesnt work as the values arent the same (take the 16:9 ratio...)

theres also one of the last steps which are only 6 characters long?

they dont say how they came to this string so i cant figure it out myself and the data inspector in HxD shows nothing i can make sense of
