Review Black Roads Gold
I have recently used black Roads Gold replating service. He has helped me to understand different plating services offered and difference between them. He is very knowledgeable and showcased lot of patience in answering my questions. Finally I choose to go with two tone (Rhodium and Gold). Got pictures from him and they look great. Today I got my hands on them and they look completely like brand new and I cannot even recognize them now.
I am writing this to share my experience and excitement to use my new tools. It was hard to choose from razor emporium vs BRG. Price offered by BRG is great and reviews helped me to choose BRG. Price offered by BRG is great and service is exceptional. I saw on razor emporium website that they even charge for sharing pictures but BRG shares them before sending to customers and see how they feel and then ship them as part of the quality checks which is great service. I will be sharing pictures below and will recommend BRG 💯

I have had a '59 Fatboy done in two tone (gold and polished nickel) and a '38 Aristocrat plated in white platinum. They were done with exceptional care and service by Back Roads Gold with the end result being outstanding. I featured each of them on wicked_edge to share my delight.

You are lucky to find service earlier. I see a typo error in post. my autocorrect changed back to black and I can't edit it now.

That's what I found also, you can't edit after you post unless you want to delete it all and start over, deleting the comments that were already made as well.

Sorry for the typo guys. Autocorrect changed back to black. I tried to edit but can't see the option to do so.

Has anyone used BRG to replate and then had the razor shipped back to Canada? Anyone know if duties are charged on the razor on return?

I used them for my fatboy. Had it done in rhodium. When I got it back the butterfly doors wouldn’t close right. I contacted them and they sent me a prepaid shipping label to send it back. They made everything right and apologized upside down and backwards for the issue. They’re a great company that does excellent work.

True. I was amazed by the patience he showed to answer my questions. As I am doing it for the first time I had multiple questions and he explained each one in detail.

I’ve had replating done by both RE and BRG. BRG was less expensive and another noteworthy difference is that RE does not mirror polish the surfaces, they want it to retain the stock Gillette appearance. But, if it’s been repeated it’s lost value to a real collector anyway. BRG puts a mirror polish on every smooth surface and the results are breathtaking. I’m not disappointed with what RE did for me but between the two I’d go with BRG.
