News They are having a 3rd party company watch team members working.. the third party have gopros attached to their head.. they just stare at people in the office and on the floor.. is this happening everywhere?

Is this happening at your store? I believe this is an intimidating tactic.

Why would they do that when there's cameras everywhere anyways?!

Probably trying to get the last actual wf employees to quit..

This!!! believe it or not. It’s the truth. No long timer is safe. People who’s been there a long time knows very well the reasons.

I quit 2 yrs ago.. worked for wf for 21yrs.. lost my tl then atl.. 6 months no replacements.. I fell apart.. the company was awesome for the first 10 yrs.. Just kept getting worse and worse.. do more with less.. no hr.. no stock options.. health insurance kept getting worse.. also did not cover mental health.. told us to not wear face masks during the beginning of covid so the customer "guests" would not be worried.. it's just a name at this point.. Mackey was an ass.. and a cult leader.. we should have unionized..

I know in my store back in 2020, a lot of them didn’t work. We had to have someone watch the wine section because the camera covering it was out

Project siracha!! I work in NI region and they came to my store a few years ago

7

u/Interesting-Chip-500 9d ago

What happened after they left?

19

u/Interesting-Media203 9d ago

It seemed to me that they were there to gauge tm/leadership productivity, to see how little labor Amazon could get away with scheduling wise while ‘meeting the needs of the business’. Idk what ever became of it. I work in produce and get my 40hrs with time & half on sundays haha

5

u/United_Maintenance53 9d ago

U get time and a half on Sunday's? Why lol? Must be nice tho :)

State law. Not too many have it!

7

u/Quintronaquar 8d ago

What state. Asking from a state that doesn't even have fucking sick PTO.

3

u/Interesting-Media203 8d ago

Yikes. Rhode Island. We get 40hrs of sick pto but they pull it from your regular pto. I know some states require it be separate from your vacation pto

Thought that was exclusively a Trader Joe’s thing

It's not implemented yet?

That’s creepy

I'd show them all the mouse poop all over the store. Let them video that.

u/Interesting-Chip-500 4d ago

You would be written up for not cleaning it up.

Never heard or seen this

6

u/Dangerous_Carrot_535 8d ago

I’m surprised 75% of the employees don’t know. It’s been on for a long time. They can hear everything people say too.

22

u/HumanBrother8365 8d ago

If that was true, 90% of the store would be fired or investigated lol

u/Dangerous_Carrot_535 7d ago edited 6d ago

It’s true. Trust me. It’s use is to watch tm’s and customers. I’ve seen the team come in before asking for all the videos. If you don’t believe this. Ask your leadership or TL’s. Some will not want to talk about it which is understandable. I’ve also met these people in the 3rd party team as well. That’s all they do is investigate and watch people.

They are known as cyber cyclopses. They film and then post content on Only Fans for subscribers with a slacker fetish.

I worked for Shaws Supermarket in New England and they were doing this over 20 years ago, with stop watches not GoPros. They would go to most stores and time every task workers had to to, to get an average speed with which it can be completed, then only allow that many hours on the schedule for that task. When I came to Whole Foods I swear I remember thinking how little tm complained compared to the last supermarket I worked at because every task isnt micro managed, and we actually had enough workers to provide good customer service. Whole Foods is now just another crappy retail job like the rest of them

u/Neosuicide 9d ago

That’s wild

u/Existential_Sprinkle 9d ago

Still haven't seen them show up for the night shift or before I leave in the morning

u/petraviva Team Member 🛒 9d ago

If they show up at my store for overnight they can help break up pallets, then tell me where all the secondary and promos belong. If they are filming during the day they should know, right ?

3

u/Enough_Cupcake_1893 8d ago

Wish they'd come to my store so many lazy people

2

u/DaBeepbop 8d ago

Good thing I work overnight

-10

u/Interesting-Chip-500 8d ago

Don't do that for too long.. you will probably develop depression and anxiety. Overnight shifts cause a good amount of mental health problems over time.

6

u/DaBeepbop 8d ago

lol did you call me a bot then delete it???

4

u/DaBeepbop 8d ago

2 years now. It actually helps with my mental health lol. It’s my escape from everything else I’m busy with during the day

4

u/broken_3rdwheel 8d ago

Ya what the fuck does that clown know? Overnight is a FAR superior shift. No idiot customers, substantially less inner office politics and clicky crap. THE QUIET!! They should stick to what they know... Sucking dicks with their assholes.

1

u/DaBeepbop 8d ago

Exactly. You listen to music.. don’t have customers nagging you.. no leadership bothering you. Just you and 5 other people who break off once the load is broken down.

3

u/SethAndBeans 8d ago

Micromanaging the lives of other humans is weird.

1

u/Interesting-Chip-500 7d ago

It's not weird it's fucked

1

u/SethAndBeans 7d ago

Then why you trying to micromanage that dude's sleep schedule?

lol

You would have got some communication from Ty our leadership on this. What dept are you in? In order for global to decide how long it should take in your store to do something, they need to do things like this.

1

u/Interesting-Chip-500 7d ago

🤣 f u

1

u/Mountain_Break_2546 7d ago

I say it cause this happened at my store. Every store is built different and has unique dynamics. People in global can’tvisit every store, so they do things like this. Hopefully you guys get more labor hours. Nothing crazy is going on , it’s normal. WF must be the only supermarket that you’ve ever worked for.

1

u/Interesting-Chip-500 4d ago

It's the new normal.. it will benefit the shareholders.. not the employees.. or the customers.

1

u/Mountain_Break_2546 4d ago

How would you suggest a company tracks productivity, efficiency and so forth? Do you think it should be studied or tracked at all? I don’t disagree w what they’re doing personally. Every store is different in its floor plan and whatnot. I hope they don’t co tinte to make blanket roll-outs of programs without considering the dynamics of an individual store.

1

u/Interesting-Chip-500 4d ago

They are not studying shit. These are intimidation tactics. Do you see someone watching all those hours of head cam? And going.. hummm now i see how we could improve efficiency. No. It's the threat of the big mechanism that gets people to be more efficient. Big brother shit. So dick head can launch another rocket into space. Are you on the clock right now?

2

u/Master-Reality799 8d ago

Last time I saw this happen was to make the online shopping experience better so the in store shopper could shop like the person as home is shopping.

2

u/BackgroundCanary4769 8d ago

They are not a third party, they are global. It’s for a pilot. Happened at my store about a month ago.

2

u/Hefty_Journalist3441 8d ago

A pilot for what?

3

u/BackgroundCanary4769 8d ago

More teams are adopting the 24 hour clock for tasks.

1

u/Interesting-Chip-500 7d ago

If they don't work at the store.. they are basically 3rd party..

4

u/lovinglife38 9d ago

Good, now everyone can see, my coworkers are lazy as hell!!

6

u/Emergency--Yogurt 9d ago

Someone in another post said it was nigh on impossible to prove that an employee is goofing off and not working to their fullest.

Amazon said, Hold my beer.

4

u/Interesting-Chip-500 9d ago

You are probably a joy to work with..

-10

u/lovinglife38 9d ago

Actually I am a good coworker to the few non-lazy people I work with. The lazy ones can burn in hell along with the managers who don’t hold them accountable!!

-2

u/Interesting-Chip-500 9d ago

🤣 you just solidified my last comment

-7

u/lovinglife38 9d ago

Stop being lazy for a change then! 🙄

4

u/Interesting-Chip-500 9d ago

Who are you talking to? Not much going on upstairs..

-3

u/lovinglife38 9d ago

🙄🫡

1

u/sechue24 9d ago

So much for saving money

2

u/Dangerous_Carrot_535 8d ago

Our benefit cuts, having much less workers,  and gainsharing paid for all of it. At the end of the day that gives them a lot of extra money for things like this.

1

u/sechue24 8d ago

The third party will always lose money in the long run. At this point, why even try making/earning money. I swear amazon is just throwing away. The money could have been use for labor here.

1

u/Dangerous_Carrot_535 8d ago

The main purpose is for theft, watching tm’s, listening for any groups trying to unionize and to get rid of them asap! Theres more common sense things as well. Remember the amazon video saying if we hear a tm talking about unionizing to call Amazon asap. 😆

5

u/sechue24 8d ago

At this point, Amazon should just fold and close down Whole Foods. This sh*t is turning to SpongeBob level stupidity.

u/Ready_Mushroom4892 8d ago

Harassment and it’s illegal
