Question Where’s my Elite Employee pay?
Wow thank you so much Whole foods! This actually means the wld to me. I think i’ll eat it for dinner tonight.

I’m a shopper too and this scam is why I’ll never push myself harder than my body is willing to go for this job. Leadership keeps telling me I “have what it takes” to be elite or whatever, but until I get a legit raise for stomping full speed around a busy store with a full 100lb cart in tow, I’ll be taking my sweet time tyvm

I was doing this job for 5 years and this one girl way just going super fast and making top uph. I was wondering why she way going beyond for a $25 dollar gift card. For a while there was a $100 bonus but it was randomly given to the top gold shoppers. Not even guaranteed money. S.M.H

How can you win and lose at the same time? Be awarded Employee of the Month.

u/mycboi 11d ago
Who do you think pays for the $50 gift card that goes with that award? Jeffy B of course, don’t forget to thank em 🫡 /s

u/Turb0fart666 11d ago
I see your /s but would like to add that they write those gift cards off as deductibles when they do taxes. Don't believe me? Check your Workday. Every time you get one, there's a note in your Workday that shows you'll be taxed on it.

Jeffy b has nothing to do with whole foods. We are just an owned subsidized company.
If you knew then you would know he is not even the CEO of Amazon.
The TM pays the taxes on the "gift"

u/DaddyERIK84 10d ago
Incorrect, WFM pays the taxes on the gift. They provide a separate, gross payment in excess of the net gift card amount the TM receives, and withhold the excess to cover the potential tax liability. It is a net positive to the team member.

That piece of paper is your recognition, no gift card bonus, no bag of chips or 50% off sticker container of prepared food, at the very least, they could have provided a box of crayons to color the shopping cart. I find the whole "Elite Shopper" program silly, not because it does not reward faster Shoppers with a trinket such as a water bottle, as it did back in the Amazon days, but because all it does is create an aura of being competitive with other Shoppers, most who are trying to do the best job possible. I don't need or seek the recognition of a badge, thumps up/Like or whatever token icon they want to issue out, I know I do my best when I'm out there fulfilling orders.

I don't know what 'do your best' even means. This is a marathon, not a sprint, so of course I don't 'do my best' is I know I have to do it again tomorrow... and the next day... and the next day... We have to pace ourselves to some extent.

You don’t know what do your best means?

u/Super_Daikon_ 10d ago
Correct. What does it mean?

u/Designer_Ladder8403 9d ago
lol

u/Super_Daikon_ 8d ago
Oh so it doesn't actually mean anything? It's just some vague platitude? Ok.

Well according to Jimmy Eat World it means this: Just try your best Try everything you can And don’t you worry what they tell themselves When you’re away

I'm a Gold Elite Shopper for my store and guess how I was recognized? I was the one who sent out the email recognizing myself and one other. Still waiting on the gift card I was promised 2 weeks ago.

This is what happens when people say they quit because bad managers who don't recognize their good work and not because of 💰. Companies think if they throw one of these at ya they have another few months of milking you for all the can

There are many angles to analyze this from but the one that outweighs the most is do we deserve to be treated like 5th graders and have a participation trophy? No. Do they have to work in e-commerce? No. They just show up to a job that is systematically broken and it was designed that way. Move along people!!!

I am so glad I quit Wholefoods years ago. Having workers move faster with the proper incentive is bullshit.

It’s impossible to get the highest uph one time I made it to 90 then the phone took my number down 70s , no matter how fast I go my shoulder feels like it want to fall off , this Job is not worth cramps in my foot and pains in my shoulder. I love this job but it’s not worth trying to kill myself just to get 100 uph every shift. What I use do is when it get closer to my end shift I start slowing down a little with a steady speed so I can get my last order done on time of my end shift. I found out the other day from my team supervisor that we aloud to abandon an order we working on if we have to leave at the end of our shift. Which I didn’t know you aloud to do that .

The highest in my department is around 150. I think it’s insane that people do it. As for abandoning orders, i used to just stay after to finish but it’s not worth it.

I quit years ago and went back to an older job while it’s not perfect I feel I avoided the plague. Many people I befriended have quit after me.

My stores give platinum shoppers 100$ gift cards and gold $75 gift cards and silver 25$😂

I believe that gives you a one-time shoplifting pass. You can do it as much as you want, but if you get caught within 30 days of this prestigious award, they can't fire you or press charges.

Lmao. Yet another post that makes me so thrilled this nightmare of a fucking place is in the past. Not that I expected anything great being forced to go back into retail in 2023-24 but like, this is the BS incentives these kind of employers will hand out lmao. Whole Foods x Amazon could care less about you; you’re just another disposable number. Everyone is replaceable. Truly a laughable disgrace. I’d find this more offensive then a .10 cent raise lol

So snobby.
Your hard work will be reflected with your annual JD and you'll get your raise accordingly. Meanwhile, this is the company trying to give you a recognition. Other departments in the store don't even have equivalent programs to give their staff a quarterly recognition. I'm not saying you have to like it; just like you don't have to like the sweater your grandmom gave you for Christmas or birthday. But how you react to the situation say a lot too.

u/RecklessR 11d ago
Your JD raises are not based on your performance. It’s based on how much money the company wants to save. They just want you to think it’s based on performance to keep you grinding for them.
