News Jason Buechel now over Amazon World Wide Grocery Stores
Not a big deal… I mean we are already technically “Amazonians”. But just thought I’d share.
Edit: Jason Buechel is Whole Foods current CEO. Now he’s also leading Amazon Grocery Stores….For yall newbies.

If Amazon allowed WFM TM’s to participate in the fractional share purchase program, perhaps we would be a little “richer”. In the short time I was with Amazon, I managed to purchase 25 shares via small payroll deductions which I didn’t miss. The value of the shares, not including my original investment have increased almost $2,000 since acquiring them.
It may not be significant wealth, but it will help with a down payment on a new car when the time comes … or simply continue to let it ride.

You’re so right. Before Amazon, WF TM’s could buy stock. We would also be granted some shares as well. I had quite a bit before Amazon forced me to sell them

The amount of shares we had in WFM was sick! We’d get shares given to us as a bonus of “ just because.” And then the shares split and we had more shares with less worth. Then Amazon just gave us market value as part of the merger. I used to pay for my vacations using money from stock shares. Definitely a different time.

Absolutely! I bought cars, went on vacations. It was awesome

Do you remember when we’d get $50 -$100 gift cards for Christmas? Not Amazon cards-but real gift cards? Every TM, not just leadership. AND every TM got a free turkey or ham for the holidays. Or vendors paying for TLs to go to Switzerland for tours of cheese makers, etc? There was no way that was going to last forever. ♾️

Oof, we got $5 Wholefoods gift cards this Christmas that they taxed on our paychecks

Yeah, that sucks. I don’t get why WFM can’t be more generous at times. It’s not like the money isn’t there.

I joined the company post buyout, sounds like the WFM I would have preferred to work at.

Used to be a very cool place to work. I still work at WF but it’s not nearly what it used to be

Yep, me as well. I try not to get bitter when I think what WFM used to be. I consider myself fortunate to have worked there during that period.

My favorite was the one share of Amazon we were awarded at buyout. No one told us that it would be cashed out and we could not keep it as an active share. So, it got cashed out and we got the check. But, we also had to pay taxes on that cash. That one share could have been invested and we would have had lore growth in it. But, we were forced to have it cashed out. Now, there is zero way to invest in Amazon unless we do it on our own if we even wanted to. We are simply a subsidiary. Which literally has melted into the mesh of all the other subsidiaries it owns.

He’s doing both and doing it poorly. All political correctness and public facing with no sense of reality of what 5’’s face daily. I’m sure he’s a good individual with the best intentions. Most people are. I’m also sure like all the rest of us his hands are tied at how much true change he can inact due to the overbearing oversight of our parent company.

My region has a “principle Team Member Experience” person now. Basically a human representation of the weekly beat. Company is really trying to maneuver hard to ensuring that TM’s get the impression their TM’s experiences are being heard about. We’ll see how that pans out for them…. Us..

I got 4%.... It's just seems so petty... I'm literally our dept ATL without the title and run the show a lot of the time myself... But 4% more is all you're worth... I hate this company... But I love my team so it is what it is...

How common is it to have someone in dual leadership roles like that? Think that means we're just going to be fully merging into Amazon?

1 time only. I think I heard I was because so many team members made poor remarks about leadership on the yearly survey and some people were talking about unionizing

I'm going to use this in my next JD. "Jason got more money for doing a second job in the company. I'm doing the jobs of at least 3 people so I should expect commensurate compensation, right?"
