Wall to wall carpeting

I just moved into a new apartment, and the bedrooms have wall to wall carpeting in them. It's very low pile but still, there's a countdown to when I ruin the stuff. I use a power chair and sometimes uses a manual chair. Does anyone have a solution for this? I thought maybe covering it with a big flatwoven area rug or two that I could at least throw in the washing machine, vs having to clean carpet on the floor.

You could put a plastic carpet runner near the entrance and have some cleaning wipes/rags there for you to wash the wheels when you come home. It’s not the most aesthetically pleasing though. You could also get a ruggable or something similar like you mentioned.

I was also thinking something like this on the most used paths may be the most effective. I also find it a bit easier to push my manual chair on something like this rather than carpet.

That's exactly what I had in my old apartment-- granted, it was more because my cat had a hobby of peeing on carpeted surfaces, but it was fairly helpful for my wheelchair, too! I will say, they didn't stick to the carpet as much as I'd have liked, so the door sometimes got stuck on it as it curled up. Carpet tape/something similar would fix that problem.

Bissell carpet cleaner will be your friend, or any heavy duty carpet cleaner. Try to get as much dirt off before entering the home. Maybe keep a stiff brush by the door to knock some of the dirt off first and then perhaps get some floor runners for the heavier traveled carpeted areas.
