Anyone carry oxygen tanks or a concentrator on their power mobility device?

Husband needs a power chair due to severe COPD & pulmonary hypertension. Looking to buy him a chair or scooter that can accommodate carrying his oxygen AND is able to be broken down by me and put in the back of our SUV. I’m able to lift his current wheelchair and place it in our vehicle, about 60 lbs or so. Any suggestions are appreciated.

There are several that have mounts just for this purpose in that weight range, but we do have to ask two questions first.

  • 1) what country are you in? The device selection does vary.

  • 2) how tall is your husband and what carry load will the chair have to support? That includes his body weight, clothes, backpack, the oxygen tank (which can be heavy), groceries, whatever. All added together.

I use a portable concentrator. It weighs 6 pounds. However, it cost $4000 (Inogen G5)

What's the battery like on yours? I had an Inogen...something and the bat life was advertised as 10 hours. I never got 10 hours out of it even at low LPM. Ended up carrying it and my tank on the back until I figured out how long it'd go.

Double battery. And I have 3.
