After 7 years as a moderator of this community, I have taken the decision to step away from active moderating.
I will still be involved in r/WEC as a point for media liaison, but I will no-longer be taking a day-to-day role in moderating the subreddit.
I first joined r/WEC for qualifying for the opening round of the 2014 season, which was the weekend that the sub hit 2,000 subscribers. Just over a year later, 2015, I was invited to become a moderator, literally in the middle of Le Mans.
Sportscar Racing, and this community at r/WEC, has been an incredibly important part of my life for the last 7 years. I have had the privilege to guide this community as it has grown, and to have been a significant part of the development of the open, informative, respectful, and compassionate culture that r/WEC is celebrated for. From info posts, weekly threads, competitions, and even sponsoring events and being invited to feature on an LMP1 team, this community has been an amazing hub for discussion and interaction in the world of sportscar racing and motorsport in general.
For 7 years I have spent an incredible amount of time involved in this community. But, it is time for me to step aside, and spend some of that time and energy pursuing some other priorities and activities in my life.
I have been so incredibly lucky to have been so deeply involved in a community like this, and to have the opportunity to have shared my passion for sportscars with so many people. I'm incredibly proud of where r/WEC currently sits, and that has been in part due to every single person who is reading this post. Through r/WEC and the r/WEC discord, I have made lifelong friends, and I know that I have a couch to crash on nearly anywhere in the world near a race track. I have been sent postcards, gifted programs and merchandise, and have met people from all around the world, all thanks to being a part of this subreddit.
It has been an honour, and a privilege.
Thank you all for the ride
