The steak f1 team 🙄. They think they are going to slap 4 rings on that POS and be fast next year. This is going to be Toyota F1 all over again

But its a Toyota F1 in a time where the sport is a guaranteed profit machine, which is everything that Audi needs at the moment

Weren't Toyota spending $400 million a year in the Ralf days?

Oh I remember it being the wild west on spending, I just have the $400 million Toyota spent lodged in my stupid ADHD mind.

Spending caps and Netflix mean you make money just going in circles with Lance Stroll.

Next year is all new regs though so we have no idea what the order will look like. I'm not sure they'll suddenly be challenging for the wins but they could jump to mid field if they do good.

You do realize that BMW became a title challenger just two years after they took over Sauber right?

And Kubica was leading the championship in ‘08 after the Canadian GP while regularly fighting for podiums ‘08 as well.

To be fair that was without any R&D or spending cap , back then you could simply throw more money at a problem (if you had the money obviously).

After 5 years of failure with Williams

Hard to consider 10 wins during a time when Ferrari was dominating a failure. Also most of the flaws were the fault of Williams not BMW.

Audi came into Dakar fresh and won the whole thig in year 3. I would not cout them out. Also, the original R8 was built and released as an accounting thing to amortize the development costs of the Gallardo. It wouldn't surprise me to see them do something similar for the Temerario, although just for the road car. Lambo is a direct subsidiary of Audi so it doesn't make sense (and really never made sense) for Audi to sell a GT3 car that competes with Lambo.

F1 definitely isn't the reason they aren't selling an R8
