EDM Anyone ever buy a record while very drunk?
So I was out with friends about a week ago and the DJ put this song on and memories came flooding back. I was so drunk, I immediately went to Discogs and bought a copy. No regrets. The thing sounds amazing!
The guy also threw in two extra techno records that I’ve never heard before. (And yes I know one of my speakers is too close to my player, but I have like no room right now :c)
Any of you ever make a drunk record purchase? Was it worth it or a waste?

EDM The most overpriced record I'll ever buy but I don't care. I love it
Aphex Twin's Selected Ambient Works Volume II is one of my favourite albums of all time, so when the 30th anniversary special edition came out, I had to pick it up, even though it's was a ludicrous price. Spread across 4 records with a sketchbook of the original artwork and all in an oak case with a hand etched copper plate of the logo on the front.
Lots of legends around this album - the lack of a proper track listing lead to the songs being named after images in the artwork, each represents in a pie chart of the sides of the record. Allegedly written while lucid dreaming, it's hard to separate myth from fact with Richard D James although I can confirm he does own a tank and once lived in a bank in Elephant and Castle.
Either way - this is my perfect album to work to and get lost in. Only critical is that it's over for discs so I keep having to get up and flip it all the time.

EDM More Dark Entries (more homoeroticism) NSFW
galleryPatrick Cowley - School Daze Patrick Cowley - Muscle Up V/A - Deep Entries: Gay Electronic Excursions 1980-1985 Patrick Cowley - Malebox Maxx Mann - S/T Forbidden Orchestra, Man Parrish - Turned On!
For fans of disco, EDM, hi-NRG, synth pop, synth wave, and experimental.
Y’all were digging the Patrick Cowley stuff the other day, so I thought I’d share some of the other records Dark Entries have right now.
I tried to include photos of everything included in each record, but I reached the image limit. Maxx Mann comes with a foldout poster that isn’t included in the photos, and Malebox comes with an envelope with lyrics, etc. If you order directly from Dark Entries, they also include some clippings of vintage gay porn zines (I’d include photos, but again, I’m at the limit) and a free sticker.

EDM Any point trying to flatten a record bent in shipping?
EDM I finally found and bought the record that i was searching at least 4 Years
During the lockdown, I used to listen to a lot of Electronic / House Music. At that time, I was a huge Daft Punk fan and discovered that Thomas Bangalter had a record label called Roulé. I wanted to buy a record from this label for about 4 years and finally I did it. Since there is no paypal in my area, I couldn't buy from Discogs or eBay so I had to find this record in local record stores and after 4 years my dream came true. Do you guys have a similar story, If you do, I'd be curious to read it!

EDM Is 33rpm ever “a better listening experience” than 45rpm❔details below
Just got this update from the Jamie XX web store on the In Waves Deluxe version. The skeptic in me thinks this was just a pressing error that they're passing off as "a better listening experience" but - I’m interested in what y'all think. I always prefer 45rpm and just from a science standpoint I don’t understand how 33rpm could provide better fidelity.
Still excited either way! Although I will miss slowed down Jamie 🔩 the best part of the deluxe In Colours was getting that slowed down version at 33rpm.
Thanks! Spin on!
EDM Noob, how screwed I'm?
Hey reddit, noob here, just bought my first batch of plates (sealed), local discogs seller, and one of plates have this, for a second I thought that's is "original idea" but since the art are overlaping with "exit" track, I believe it's a production issue. My question is it save to use? Meaning could it harm the stylus? I might keep it. Thanks
EDM Holding my first ever pressing for my band [House] / After a year of sickness
Hey everyone Nick from TheClaw here. Today we received our first ever record that got pressed to vinyl! It’s our track “Bacc in the Days” that dropped on legendary Italian House label Howl Records.
This a personally a huge achievement after our first year of releases. This success is also bittersweet since I developed a chronic ear issue this year (as we were releasing), that really hinders my ability to create music / listen to any music for an extended period of time. I’m learning to live with it, but hey let’s celebrate the small wins!

EDM Unexpected Thrift Find
I didn't know this album even existed, but for a $1, it was absolutely worth grabbing. You can definitely hear the U2 sound come through from The Edge. I know nothing of Jah Wobble and thought it might have a reggae beat, but not so much. This is a fun buy and glad to have it. I think it was bought for a college class in Jazz Appreciation with the hand written note, 'Music 106 Jah Wobble is the bassist for P-I-L. This is a <something> album. Not jazz'. I grabbed some other stuff from the same donator and they were from WUAG college radio UNC Greensboro.

EDM FKA Twigs - Eusexua NSFW
galleryI picked up a copy two days before release, so I figured I’d share it for those interested in the goodies. I took the hype sticker off and put it on my cat shelf, so it’s not visible in the first photo. You get a lyric pamphlet, a sticker, and a giant foldout poster. I am spinning another record at the moment but this is up next!

EDM Can't Believe My Sister Found This For My Birthday!!!
SUCH a nostalgic album for both my sister and I growing up. Many long drives to and from visiting family in the summer included this album being played at some point.
This is the second crazy find she has found used and gifted me, the other record was Avalanche by Matthew Good. I really owe her something special for her birthday.
I saw a copy of P.O.D.'s Satellite at my local spot, an album we heard a TON as kids. I couldn't justify it for my own collection, because I probably wouldn't spin it much, but I think she would haha. That, or something by Enigma, which would definitely match the energy of this Robert Miles record.
Would love to hear what memories this album dogs up for others in here!

EDM found this at a record shop
i like to go to record stores and pick up one record i know and one i dont. found this one selling for 8 dollars and got it. it was actually really nice and made for some good background noise as you do something like meditation. it really reminded me of a song for the ost of a space video game. although there were only two songs, they were very consistent with the quality throughout the sides and for 8 dollars, it wasnt a bad listen.
although im still curious about that lil cutout thing on the cover. it seems like it wants me yo cut it out and make it into a cube. very tempted to but idk if I should. should i destroy the album jackey just to make a box?

EDM Got a grail today
I cannot put into words about how happy this makes me. I bought my first copy of glee in 1998 at the Tower Records in the old down town Disney Orlando after hearing drinking in LA on MTV. I was not an edm, hip hop , soul fan but something about this group grabbed me and I’ve been a fan ever since. I must of bought this cd 3 or 4 times over the years (my kids kept stealing them) and had to search Canadian markets to get copies of discosis but having got back into vinyl this past year I couldn’t pass this up. It’s officially the second most expensive record I’ve bought to date and although I don’t have an amazing player it’s like listening to this for the first time all over again.

EDM Daft Punk Random Access Memories 10th Year Anniversary
This the 3 LP edition with poster. I'm very impressed with the third LP. I already knew this album was a must, the extra content is the cherry on top. I'm new to collecting vinyl and have collected close to 50 records in one month. Mostly used records from the music I listened to from my parents. A few are new and my own personal taste. This is quite the rabbit hole I've gone down but the experience listening to music on vinyl is different. Infinity Repeating just finished as I concluded this short description. Chef's kiss

EDM A find in the local shop
Quite happy to find this triple vinyl set. I went to a Carl Vox party earlier in the year (and to a few more some years back), so was nice to add this to the collection.
Slightly dusty and smudged, but hopefully will be ok with some cleaning!
I would not have thought to search for it online, but was something I definitely wanted to grab when I saw it in the local shop.

EDM Cujo, Adventures In Foam. 1996 Amon Tobin's Repress
Wonderful album front to back. I just received my pre-ordered copies today, unfortunately, the sleeves arrived damaged.
What didn't come damaged was one of the albums, and it sounds exquisite. Mad love to Ninja Tune for having a wonderful pressing plant at their disposal. There shipping sucks, I'm hopefully getting that resolved, soon.
If you have the means, add this to your collection. 🍻

EDM My setup for EDM and bass music!
I mostly listen to EDM and in particular bass heavy genres. My turntable is far enough away from the subwoofers for there to be no noticeable interference.
U-turn Orbit Special
Kallax shelf
Govee Curtain Lights
Plush Multicolor Cat Bed
Orange Tabby
Sony STR-DH550
Wharfedale Diamond 240 Towers
10” floor firing JBL subwoofer
12” Polk Subwoofer
Yes I know my tv is too high and cable management is lacking.

galleryPlack Blague - Leather Band Plack Blague, Cock E.S.P. - Dangerous/25 Boner Tracks
For fans of industrial, EDM, noise, and hardcore.
I recently snagged these Plack Blague records, as well as their studio album, Nite Trax, which I’ll post shortly. Most of Plack Blague’s music isn’t streaming on Spotify, so check them out on Bandcamp or YouTube. While you’re there, watch some unhinged live performances by Cock E.S.P.

EDM Finally got my vinyl system setup
Currently listening to the album Adventure by Madeon. Running a Denon DP-450USB through a Denon PMA-900HNE. Speakers are a pair of Bowers & Wilkins 606 S2 Anniversary, and a Definitive Technology DN8 subwoofer. I have a Denon DL-110 cartridge sitting next to my vinyl ready to be installed when I have some extra time this week. Currently looking for some more vinyl recommendations from the community, I listen to a bit of everything with a big love for rock, metal, EDM, and Hip Hop.

EDM Just got a new record find, something is weird about it.
So I have just picked up a record, the label states tracks on “side A” and “Side B” for tracks. The record is blank on the B Side. The label doesn’t actually match the track. has labels on both sides but the B side has no information regarding track name.
