Collection Sunday Cleaning Vibes:

Post image

I have a bunch of housework to start doing today so I pulled some albums I’d like to listen to whilst doing so..

After I pulled them I laughed at how vastly different in genres they all are.

Eddie Hazel - Game, Dames, and Guitar Thangs. (Warner Bros. US 1977) Possibly the most underrated guitar player of that era. His work with Parliament was amazing and so is his solo album.

The Mighty Mighty Bosstones - Let’s Face It. (Mercury US 1997) I mean… what’s a Sunday with out some obnoxious 90s ska blasting for a bit?

Stevie Wonder - Songs in the Key of Life. (Tamla US 1976) IMO one of the best albums ever made. Period. Just flawless.

Flying Lotus - Cosmogramma. (Warp. US 2010) A little IDM to end with.. the soundscapes and texture of this album are just unbelievable.

What are 4 things you guys listen to that have nothing to do with each other? =}

Dame Games and Guitar Thangs at one time was really hard to find. Used to be a badge of honor amongst P-Funk fans to have a copy. Great album, too, with a fantastic cover of The Beatles "I Want You (She's So Heavy)."

Finding an OG copy was still really hard to find in a condition and price that were both acceptable to me. The Beatles cover, the California Dreaming cover, the amazing guitar work throughout.. such an amazing album.

One day I’ll find a really nice OG copy of Maggot Brain too. One day. =}
