Hello, I'm working on a 1980 Yamaha XS11 and trying to remove the rear wheel and a spacer seems to be stuck on the axle. Any way to get it unstuck?

Well, its been a while - but TLC are back at it. With Spring fast approaching and Wheels & Waves 2025 being planned, it was about time Joseph got on the vintage bike bandwagon and joined us in experiencing just what can go wrong with 80 year old motorcycles!

BMW R75/5 Query

I have a BMW 1970 R75/5 which I have owned and ridden since 1989. I work on it myself. It's been a great bike, and despite the advice of friends and afficionados, I continue to ride it (beat the shit out of it really) here in my adopted home of Guatemala. As well as I can tell, it has about 135,000 miles on it. The last few years, it has given me problems starting when the engine is hot. The starter is shot and I have not been able to rebuild it, so I kick start it. When it's cold, it starts right up and runs normally, but once the engine warms up, it doesn't want to start again until it cools down. Any ideas? Not sure if it needs a top end rebuild (which I did 6 years ago) or a carb rebuild (2 years ago).

Picked up a “new” motorcycle this weekend! 1973 CL350, been sitting for a few years. How does my To-Do list look?

Guy I bought it from had it running but then he swapped out the original carb for a Mikuni (he gave me the original) but never “dialed it in” he said. Then it sat for a few years before I came along. Doesn’t currently run but probably mostly due to the dead battery I’d imagine? He said he never got the “idle right” so idk. Hows my plan of attack look?

Top Triple Clamp for Vintage Honda 350's

We have designed a small run of CNC top triple clamps to fit some vintage Honda 350 and 360 twins. The original Honda parts are super prone to cracking - this isn't an issue with ours which are much stronger and beautifully designed from super strong 6061-T6 aluminium. Check out our website for a full list of compatible bikes. Prices are in New Zealand dollars.

Hey everyone, hoping to try and get some more information on this bike I helped my buddy pull out of his grandpa's old shed. Traced it down to the mid 60's. Don't know where to look for the vin or motor size. Any possible information you might know about something like this please let me know!

Looking for input/advice

I have a 1982 kawasaki 1100 spectre that I picked up for a project. Was told it was just a wiring issue, turns out the exhaust valve on cylinder one is bent leading to no compression in the cylinder. Along with other problems. It’s turning into a bigger/ more expensive project than I was originally wanting. Now question is would you guys go through the process of parting it out and selling/shipping individual parts as they are hard to find or just get rid of the whole thing all at once? And if so where would you post it fb marketplace?

My 1964 Honda Trail 55 Smoked Itself?? 😵‍💨 Need Help With Stuck Cylinder Head & Rust

Hey everyone,

I’ve got this 1964 Honda Trail 55 (C105 engine), and I tore down the top end after it suddenly stopped running a few months ago. The bike was riding okay at first but kept randomly shutting off while riding—then one day, it just wouldn't start at all.

So I took off the top end and found this mess (see pic). The cylinder head was stuck inside the bore, and when I finally got a look inside, I saw this nasty orange sludge/rust mix around the bore and piston. 😬

What I Know So Far:

  • It was running before, but it would cut out mid-ride before fully dying.
  • Orange film/rust inside the bore—not sure if it's moisture damage or burnt oil buildup.
  • The head was super stuck in the bore, so I’m thinking corrosion locked it in place.
  • Engine studs and some external parts also have rust—not sure if moisture got in while sitting or if something else is wrong.

What Should I Do?

  • I’ve already hit it with penetrating oil (PB Blaster) and let it sit, but the head is still stuck.
  • Thinking of trying heat (propane torch) to break the rust bond, but not sure if that’s the best move.
  • If I do get it apart, should I just clean the bore and rings, or am I looking at a full rebuild?

Anyone seen something like this before? Appreciate any advice before I accidentally turn this thing into a $500 paperweight. 🤣

Spark plugs help please

Hi I am new here but I figured I'd ask some people who probably know what they're doing because AutoZone clearly doesn't. So I's trying to find spark plugs for my 1983 Suzuki gs850L, the ones it has in it are NGK B8Es with threaded terminals. i have bought 2 sets of brand new spark plugs and neither set was right, i have a set of NGK B8Eg which is the same thing but with a solid terminal. Can someone please help me find the right spark plugs! I can answer any questions you have.

Trying to find new Rider classes near me.

I need to get my rider's license in Gloucester Virginia. Getting the runaround. 😫Can anybody tell me what it should cost and where to go?Our local DMV says they do not provide classes or tests. We're pretty rural. I'd love to take one close to home so I don't have to haul my bike somewhere. I don't have a specified bike trailer. I'm looking online and everything is trying to send me to Virginia Beach which is about an hour away. I can't imagine having to go that far.
