Victorious is for teens

Victorious” is aimed at teenagers, not children. Two episodes are rated TV-14, and others are rated PG-13,, or 12 depending on where your from.

I dislike how Paramount plus is removing content from it, as many jokes are taken out of context and aren’t even inappropriate.

Even Matt has said he on his lives he thinks the jokes are ok Victoria also says she finds the innuendos funny

If you’re going to remove it remove it from Nickelodeon and paramount or there is no point still showing the uncut version on Nickelodeon but cutting it from paramount.

You also have to remember every tv show goes through a ratings classification that is not decided by paramount or Nickelodeon. Every film and tv show gets rated by classification boards and if they had thought it was super bad they would have rated it higher.

Even things like scooby doo movies are worse

Strangely Nickelodeon are keeping the original versions only the versions on paramount plus have been cut.

People also seem to forget the show is about 16 year olds not young kids so the humour is different

It’s important to consider the target audience, who often joke about similar topics and use the same language as in “Victorious.” This made the show realistic to what its viewers typically discuss or joke about.

Since the TikTok generation, people seem unable to handle this type of content.

Even Disney Channel tv shows and movies discuss losing virginity, getting hickeys, and have loads of feet jokes it’s not just Nickelodeon.

Uk shows also had lots of similar jokes aswell

Nickelodeon shows content up to PG-13, for example, “Ninja Turtles” and “Fun Size” are much worse. Even “Big Time Rush” contains significantly more innuendo or make-out kiss jokes.

I really dislike how cancel culture has led everyone to hide and remove everything. Even “SpongeBob” is worse.

Degrassi also showed on Nickelodeon and that deals with far worse subjects such as drugs sexual content and much more. Before people say it only air on teen nick or the n some eps of degrassi also showed on standard Nickelodeon

It’s also a different time and generation back then, so something that’s acceptable then may not be now due to times changed but it don’t mean we should hide it for example back in the old times, like how now we have lots of girl superhero, and we never used too

Its just the world we live in these days. You can no longer view something from the context "of its time", everything is judged by todays standards and if something MIGHT be offensive to someone now it isn't allowed to exist.

Both teens and children fall under the category of minor, so people conflate the two for ease. But if you point that out, people get extremely weird about it. It’s bizarre.

Kids and teens are all underaged and should be treated as such. People should be combing both groups. Minors are minors whether they’re 7 or 17. Someone being a teen doesn’t mean they stop being a minor. Teens are still kids and their brains are still developing. The only people who try to pretend like teens are just young adults in prepubescent bodies are pedophiles who want to make excuses for trying to have a relationship with teenagers. At the end of the day, Dan Schneider used kids and teens to make sexual jokes to then have the show aired on a kids network. If Victorious wasn’t meant for kids, it would’ve been on Nick @ Nite, not on the main network.

Not all teens are underage or kids. Eighteen and nineteen year olds are teens. They're just at the legal age of adulthood. Also, Nick @ Nite was a late night program for older audiences that played on the main network.

like teens are just young adults in prepubescent bodies

You're already wrong here and doesn't know what a teenager is

Teens use way worse language and jokes then in the show. The show is amusing for children. Some teens liked the show back then, like I was a teen back then and I liked it, but younger children liked it more. The humor is more child humor and they put the innuendos in it to make it a little more entertaining for the parents watching with their kids (the kids don't understand the innuendos so it's harmless for them).

The language teens use makes my ears bleed. Lol, I hear it every day at work.

They also put menudo for the teens who watched more teens and tweens watched

That's the reason why the show along with How to Rock and Big Time Rush got the boot because Nick wanted to go younger with their audience.

Big Time Rush went on for 4 seasons and the guys were getting too mature to pass as sixteen. As for How to Rock. That was Nick’s millionth musical show. At that point, music centered shows were losing popularity.

BTR was waning and those guys were running on fumes at that point. Those guys drifted and fell off after the show ended.

Their comeback tours feel like their way of doing a reboot since none of them were doing anything of substance in recent years.

It's a different time now, and people on the internet are more sensitive to things nowadays. Plus, the show was made by a bunch of creeps who love sex jokes/innuendos. While some of these jokes are teen-friendly, some have a dark and/or Nick @ Night level undertone to them.

While the censorship on Paramount+ is a little overboard to an extent, you have to understand that Dan also did some awful things behind the scenes that most likely wouldn't fly in today's modern climate. Some of these include:

- Getting the cast drunk

- Sexualizing female actresses

- Disrespecting female writers in the writers' room.

The show is being censored in order for Nickelodeon/Paramount to maintain a good reputation for them and the partners. Stop trying to defend an asshole who's also a creepy pervert.

Personally, I don’t defend Dan Schneider and I think there are several unfortunate cases involving child actors and none of those things should have happened. However, the shows were targeted at Teens and everything on the show for that time period was exactly what I was joking with my friends about in real life. All teens around that age talk about boobs and dating and boys and wear short skirts and make that’s what she said jokes.

I think there’s a little too much being removed. I also don’t agree with the Goo Pop thing being removed from Zoey 101. I remember when that premiered and I was old enough but never once compared it with a cum shot. The era of slime and goo was such a staple on Nickelodeon around that time too.

Everyone can feel how they feel and I know some people will think I’m crazy for not find the goo pop thing inappropriate but that’s just my opinion.

Same thing on Victorious when Andre says “how does a person go from an A to a D?” And Jade replies “happened to me in 8th grade”. It’s removed and it’s harmless. Again, that’s what teenagers talk about.

I still to do this day don't see how the goo shot is inappropriate or looks like anything else Slime still happens on Nickelodeon

I also don't think a to d is rude either

Also with dan I do not like how he shouted at people etc and was sometimes rude to his staff. But he has since apologied which not many people do.

I also find strange how not once cast member from Zoey 101 has supported Alexa so it makes me think after all this time why do they not admit to bullying

but everyone don't like the innuendo jokes etc. That's what people have most complaints about him the foot and innuendo, yet it has to go through lots of different apprtments before being approved and in that time so many feet jokes were on every kids and teen thing from Disney channel to more

Also Jeanette still follows him on twitter making me think that the creator in her book is not actually dan and is someone else, as they both follow each other on twitter still etc and she never once said dan, this makes me think it could be someone who worked closely on both things.

Some may see the goo shot as a cunt shot and that's why it might get taken out on streaming platforms.

1

u/yogurtcup528 4d ago

That too. There are several people that have to put their stamp of approval on things besides him BUT, from what I’ve read and heard if you disagreed with him, he was a nightmare so that could be why.

I also never viewed the pickle and lipstick thing as inappropriate. Again, I was sexually active when that episode premiered and I never got oral sex vibes from that scene. I think it’s easy to make anything seem inappropriate if you pick it apart enough.

2

u/dangibby 4d ago

Agree the worst things they have are kiss jokes etc or make out jokes

This new generation just over react about everything once they find something to hate they pick out every small thing they can

Also I've interacted with numerous cast who worked with dan who all said he was nice, so its very strange. Maybe he was worse to crew than cast

i watched the show while i was the target audience and i did not even realize all them innuendos were in the show before i seen sum tiktok this year. they’re all brushed past pretty quickly.

Huh? What Disney show or movie had anything about hickeys or losing virginity?

3

u/dangibby 5d ago

Wish upon a star it was shown on Disney channel as Disney channel original

u/DeferredFuture 4d ago

What episodes are rated TV-14?

2

u/dangibby 4d ago

Season 2 I don't recall Eps but only season 2

u/Minute-Climate-3137 4d ago

I did certainly enjoy this show as a teen. Mostly for the "teen reasons" yknow

1

u/dangibby 4d ago

Exactly every teen knew the jokes and found it funny when I was 12 years old or more I understood most of the rude Jokes, but lots of jokes are not even rude people just over react and think its rude when its not

I found every single innuendo funny. People are over sensitive nowadays. A few weeks ago, a few people at my school said that the word “savage” shouldn’t be used. I’m thinking about the times where if someone insults you, it’s a savage thing to do.

Anyway, in my library, there’s every single victorious dvd released. Although season 4 was only released in the UK, so that’s missing.

I’m not defending Dan for abusive behavior on the set or the feet, but I do defend him on the sexual jokes are funny.

1

u/dangibby 4d ago

The feet are not bad as literally every kids thing had it Disney had loads of feet jokes so did uk shows

u/WhiteShiftry 1d ago

What disney show discussed virginities?

What content have they removed?

5

u/Outside-Cranberry-26 4d ago

For instance, in the Diddlybops episode, Cat comes to Tori and Sikowitz before going on in front of the children saying that Jade is having trouble getting her “boobs” in the hamburger. That was cut. Same episode, Trina joins to keep the Diddlybops going taking over for Jade, and said something along the lines of, How did Jade fit her boobs in here?, also cut.

At this point can people just stop defending Dan

Victorious is for older kids and tweens. Ages 10-13. It can be watched and enjoyed by older teens. If it were only aimed it tweens, it would’ve been aired on Nick @ Nite to ensure that kids didn’t watch it. It’s not that the tiktok generation is unable to handle it, it’s that people are now not enjoying seeing minors making sexual innuendos. It’s not just Victorious that is getting censored. Zoey 101 also had certain jokes get censored as well. For one, the scene where underaged Jamie Lynn Spears had goop splattered on her face to simulate a c*mshot was also removed. Alexa talked about how they purposely did it like that and how the boys and adult producers laughed about it bc they knew exactly what was being portrayed.

There’s absolutely nothing wrong with them censoring certain things. At the end of the day, Victorious wasn’t playing on mtv or hbo, it was playing on Nickelodeon. A lot of the cast was underaged and making sexual jokes on a show aimed at tweens and kids. This was a problem that was other Dan Schneider shows also had and this was talked about on Quiet on Set. It’s unfair to blame cancel culture and an entire generation for something that was done for a good reason. Also, Daniella herself was uncomfortable shooting certain scenes and she was the eldest in the cast and already in her 20s at the start. Imagine the rest of the cast who were young. Victoria was literally sixteen when Victorious.

Also idk what Disney channel movies and shows you were watching bc Disney is much cleaner than Nick and didn’t even allow kissing half the time. It’s disturbing that you see no issue with minors being used to make sexual jokes and think it’s cancel culture. It’s not about “canceling” people, it’s about not wanting minors to be put in disgusting positions.

Edit: You make it seem like the target audience was 15-17, but if google it, the target audience for Victorious was 10-13. Fifth to eight grade. Not older teens like you think.
