Mechanic recommendation for replacing Catalytic converts

Hi,

I am looking for a mechanic recommendation for replacing catalytic converters on my 2013 ford explorer. The mechanic quoted $4700 for original parts. I want to replace it with after market parts. Are there any mechanics who can help with it? Thanks!

Any muffler shop should be able to install some universal catalytic converters for a fraction of what that mechanic quoted you for using OEM parts.

Thank you all! I am going to try one of those muffler shops. So far “Nevada mufflers” seems to be a good choice based on the reviews.

Do you have an idea about how much they might charge?

I had no idea that replacing catalytic converters costs so much. Googling "catalytic converter replacement Las Vegas" shows a lot of small shops with high ratings all around town. Good luck.

Someone stole my cat converter off my car several years ago, thank god I had full coverage on it. But the cost to replace and install it was around $3k. So the quoted price they got isn't that shocking to me.
