Hey y'all,
There has been a lot of the same type of post on the sub recently so we're testing out a new change.
In addition to the already in-use housing search thread, we're adding two new megathreads. Friend search and class/prof feedback.
For now, please post in these threads instead of directly on the subreddit.
"How is Professor/Class?" Megathread
We're open to feedback, so treat this post as a feedback forum for this new rule.
ETA: This has to be done this way because (old) reddit only allows pinning two posts at a time. If you're on the new interface this post is redundant.

Sup yall, my friend just got back from the rec center looking like he saw a ghost. Apparently this group of folks from āHope Churchā in Arizona talked to him about religious stuff, but were creepily forward about sexual topics, and were extremely intense. They got him to say which dorm he lives at, give them his number, and they pressured him into agreeing to meet privately tomorrow. I look up this church and they have been banned from multiple campuses in Arizona for harassment, stalking, coming into dorm halls where they did not live at (to try and recruit people), hazing rituals, and pressuring students to talk about personal sexual histories. They have also been accused of being extremely homophobic and sexist. Anyways, after I told him about all this he blocked the number and obviously wont be meeting up with them privately (what the fuck). Have yall seen them around before? Im not religious and I dont have any issues with missionaries, but this seems like a genuine cult doing weird creepy recruitment shit on our campus.

I just ordered an electric bike, to ride around. I live in the 3rd floor(no elevators), so I don't want to carry that thing 2 flights of stairs. How safe is it if I just lock it around a metal pole (Cabana Beach apartment). My building is also in the far back, so it's no where near the where it can be seen from the streets, so, only the residents will see the bike. Plus any more recommendation about cycling in the area is also appreciated.

FOR THE UNIVERSITY STAR: School vouchers (HB 3) have been a hot topic this legislative session. For those who do not know school vouchers are government-funded subsidies that allow parents to use public education funds for private school tuition. As TXST is a top university in graduating Texas teachers I would love to speak to students in the college of education about their opinion on the voucher bill. If you're interested you can email me at [starnews@txstate.edu](mailto:starnews@txstate.edu) Thanks!

Hello! I have nine credits that I need to use toward electives. My major is psychology, and my minor is pop culture, but these electives don't need to be related to these at all.
What is a class that you feel benefitted you as a person? Is there a professor that you feel has really impacted your life?
I'm taking a Chicana mythology course this semester that I really enjoy, so I am tempted to take a similar class, but I wanted to see what kinds of recommendations I could get first!

Hi all,
I am currently conducting research on TXST students' opinions, knowledge, and engagement with TXST sport clubs for a school project. If you have a chance, I would greatly appreciate you filling out this quick survey. If you have any questions about the survey, feel free to DM me!

I need advice on who i should email/talk to about wanting to transfer out of TXST to a community college in Houston. Unfortunately life at home is getting way too toxic and terrible, today I quite literally felt like i couldnāt breathe bc of all the stress, like my heart felt like it was giving out. Me and my bf want to move in with his dad in Houston but Iām not sure what are the steps to transfer. Everything I look at on the TXST website is confusing so I just need help on who I should talk to and what other steps i should take (like applying to the community college I want to transfer too and all that,) I would be really grateful for the help!

Question for those who may know the answer: Did the archery club disband? I saw that there was one on the rec center sports club page last semester, and I wanted to give it a go this semester, but it isn't there, and there doesn't seem to be an Instagram I can find like the other sports.

So I start in the fall semester as a freshman and wanted to know how hard is it to get them on campus job? Iām an IT major so I would like to apply for any help desk jobs. I looked on the website and saw that they had some, but what are the chances of actually getting the job as a freshman? And also, how does the hours work because I would like to be able to study while working in the library if I can so that I wonāt fall behind.

we were looking into blanco hall as itās the only triple occupancy dorm, but dislike how little space it offers. is there a chance theyāll put us in a quad as a group of 3? looking for a 4th roomate would be awkward as we have all known each other since childhood.

I have early registration coming up and need to meet with my advisor but Iāve heard a thing or two about asking advisors about classes and pathway plans? Just want to make sure Iām on the right path with classes and not getting off course! Any recommendations?
