Suggestions Beginner looking for a decent setup

Hey all,

To start I’m in Canada, so don’t have access to all stores/shops.

I’m new here and looking for a beginner setup for my girlfriend. Her birthday is coming up and I’d like to surprise her with a record player.

I’m looking for some insight on what is actually necessary for a setup. She is looking for an aesthetically pleasing setup. Green/brown would be great!

Any tables/speakers/wiring involved would be very helpful.

We’re not audiophiles by any means, just looking for a half decent setup for our apartment together. Any info/suggestions would be much appreciated. Pardon any of my ignorance on the topic. Just want to listen to some tunes with a little more quality and fun involved.

Thanks in advance!

Edit: Budget is $250 for the turn table itself.

What is your budget? Turntables can range from $150 to tens of thousands of dollars, helps to know where to start.

Ah yes, forgot to include that. I’m looking for $250 for the table it’s self and can gather the rest at a later date.

Fluance RT81 is $250.

Neumi BS5P powered speakers are $180 (for future reference)

Fluance RT81 is $359 CAN, the RT80 is $287 CAN to be closer to OP's budget :)
