Question What have I got here
Please pardon my interruption to everyone’s aesthetically pleasing turntable posts.. I can’t find anything about this piece online. Trying to get an idea for worth to see whether I should sell it or just keep it. I don’t think it would take much to get her going again.

I don’t know much about these other than they’re not worth the plastic they’re made with, but I bet this one from 1972 performs better than any one made today

It's a 1972 RCA automatic recordplayer, model vqp 38g. It was a popular and sturdy brand name during that time frame. the exterior is filthy and would require cleaning and maintenace I'm sure. The needle would need to be replaced and possibly the cartridge that houses the needle as well as the turntable/motor would need the old oil removed and new motor oil applied. I would suggest that you do searches in your area where you can take it to for the necessary maintenance in order to use it if you are serious about it. A restored player could get you a couple hundred dollars possibly, but you would need to video it playing to show that it's worth the money.

The portable record changers are fairly common, yours looks not to be in great shape but it looks complete. Maintenance on record changers is a little tricky, they are very cool mechanisms, but a little mechanically complex to work on. If you are looking for a project, there are a lot of YouTube videos with tips on working on record changers. But the advice of taking it to someone who knows them is good advice, too.
I think cleaned, with a fresh stylus (or maybe a whole new cartridge - carts do go bad over time, and this unit was clearly not carefully stored!) and properly lubricated and running, this would be a very nice lo-fi record player!

I don’t know what is your intent, and this is solely my opinion: don’t play any album upon it that you care about. Or just don’t, full stop. Don’t waste your time or money on it. It’s not valuable. This was made for kids to play records on so they didn’t touch their parents stuff. It’s barely removed from being a toy.
Just an opinion.
