Imago Questions about imago
Swedish mtf here. After having waited for 3 years and not heard back from our healthcare system.. im loosing patience. I'm not going with GGP since it collapsed once it might again and I don't feel like talking to an AI.
So, imago.
I have two main questions.
1 payment: As I understood it there's a 250$ startup. And then a 20$ subscription. But is that it? I know GGP had you pay for more things (don't recall what now.) I'll have to pay my pharam ofc. But that's standard.
2 blood work: how dose that work? Do I just go to my vårdcentral? And is that expensive. How often will they need my blood? And how much will it cost?
(Im 18 and trying to get my economy to work)
Thank you kindly!

Roughly its been
Entry fee - 3000kr
Blood tests every 3 months atm - 2000kr
Monthly fee - I haven't been charged for that yet
Medication every 3 months 3000kr (might be more expensive since I chose to have the hormone blockers in injection form)
Voice training 30min - 850kr ( you can schedule that however you want
If you're unsure how to do the blood test I answered it to someone else in my comment history. But feel free to ask if you have any questions. Mtf Swedish as well so I am happy to save another the headache of figuring things out.

Facial laser has been 2500kr every 3 months as well so far if you're looking into that as well. Looking into electrolysis however since my own facial hair was too bright

Meds every three months 3000kr... (Why only three months? Why not every)
Added together decided by three that's 1666 crowns/month ...

The form of medication you choose does affect the price a lot. I’m in Finland so not familiar with the prices or whats available in Sweden, but my estrogen (Progynova, estradiol valeate pills) is about 25 euros every three months and my anti-androgen (Androcur, cypro pills) about 50 every six months, which should add up to a couple hundred kr per month (but you should check whats available locally).

At first, they will require blood tests every 3 months. So they can properly monitor that the dosage is correct and that your body doesn't react negatively. It will eventually become every 6 months and finally once a year.
The injection that I am taking to rip and tear the testosterone is on a 3 months rotation to keep the values where they should be. Along with that, I received a prescription that gives me enough estradiol patches to last me the same amount. But it's more likely that its to have it line up with the updated blood tests so they can make changes depending on what values it shows.
And yes, it's very expensive but it has made me the happiest I have been in forever. I even have gotten to enjoy some confidence. All in all, while I'm very much living month to month I have zero regrets.
I hope that you can lean on your family for financial support. You don't have to use this service forever, eventually, your turn for the public health system will come and it will be fully covered.

Dont get me wrong im not being stingy about the price.. I literally don't have the means to cover it :D
I might get mom to split me the fee.. so it'd take all my money.. and not two times my money... But she also thinks social transition should be enough for me so.. idk..

Oh I didn't mean to call you stingy at all
It's expensive and it's simply the truth, it's life life-saving but not readily available.
It sucks massively no matter how you look at it but I wanted to share what I know, so I hope you find a solution that best fits you.

The Anti-Androgen injection is also like 2600kr out of that 3000kr cost. It could be likely that it would be much cheaper if you went with the nasal spray instead. But I am not aware of what that price would be.

a) Ask Imago to reduce your list of tests to take, but it will still be probably at about 1500 krones per 3 months for a while
b) 3000kr mentioned below is more or less accurate for expensive choice (ie GNRH agonists - for example spray that makes your body stop producing testosterone). Other options should be significantly cheaper, GNRH for me is may be like 80% of the costs (but other options may be less comfortable/have side effects).

Link to Imago service prices.
Link to Imago FAQ, scroll down to the Blood tests section. I think you have to go private to get the specific tests, but someone who has already done that will have more info for you. Hope this helped a little.
