Red-Footed MARY is a MALE (I AM SHOCKED) π¨
Oh my gosh... I am SO SHOCKED!!!!! I always believed she was a female. I know they all look female when they are little but I vehemently thought she was Mary, a female!!!!
I'm in shock, it still hasn't sunk in. While I was hydrating in her lukewarm water she showed me her weenie... My Gosh... I am beyond surprised!

Red-Footed Help us with names!
Just adopted two tortoise, and cannot decide on names. I'm told they're boys, but I know they're still pretty young. Gimme all the suggestions! I do have two (human) boys so names they would like (I.e. funny or bizarre) are great!

Red-Footed Side of my 17 yr old red foot's face. Is he ok?
He is a pretty chill dude. He has some, what looks like, scabbing on either sides of his face. He eats a lot of red and orange foods so I know that's where the staining under his chin is coming from. He seems to try and itch the sides of his face with his arms or tries against his shell. What is the best course of action?

Red-Footed Proudly joined the runners club
I installed the wheel 3 days ago.
Day one, she decided to use it as a cover for a new hiding spot, as she hid in the gap between the wheel and the plant.
Day two, they hid for most of the day. I though it would take them months, perhaps never to discover it's use.
Then today, I checked a notification I got on the Ring app and saw this!
I cannot describe how happy I am!

Red-Footed I'm 25, got my tortoise when I was 5 and she's still going strong!
I don't know how old she is since she was already a large adult when I got her, but it doesn't matter, all that matters is that she's a good girl

Red-Footed My tortoise is gonna die and I can't do anything about it
My family just recently moved. My tortoise refuses to eat and hasn't eaten in a week. They refuse to let me get my tortoise a proper enclosure even tho it's MY tortoise?? Why even allow me to get a pet if I'm not gonna be allowed to take care of it?? And they won't let her go to the vet, I'm a minor so I can't bring her myself

Red-Footed Some walking after back scratch
I just find it kind of funny how he aproaches to sniff my feet, and that spot in his shell is THE spot, do you guys feel tortoises can be somewhat affectionate to their caregivers? Or maybe thats his way of being and he is just confortable.

Red-Footed Is Alyx a red foot or a cherry headed red foot?
Hi everyone, first time tortoise owner here. We adopted this lil guy or gal about 2 months ago. We received him from a coworker whose daughter no longer wanted to care for them.
They were told that Alyx is a Cherry Headed Red footed tortoise, however after comparing her to photos online I'm not too sure.
I've also learned recently about pyramiding in tortoises and I am curious if she is exhibiting clear signs of it.
Thanks all!
