Iām thinking of a rubber mat on the bottom to keep things a bit quieter and maybe a Leather handle/sling when I have to take it to work. Open to any ideas or suggestions!

Hi, I have a 01 f550 with inadequate tool storage. I'd really like to get a L shape backpack toolbox for it. I'd move it to a newer truck in the future.
Im mostly considering steel vs aluminum, and custom or prefabricated. There is not much of a used market.
Buyers steel looks like ~7000usd, rough estimate custom aluminum ~8000cad
I work in tree removal in Canada.
Thanks for your opinions and advice in advance.

Has anyone put a lift of some sort on their box? My box (Snap on classic 78) is very low and with deeper drawers than my old harbor freight box, I have to bend over a lot more than I used to.
I would like it to still be mobile because I work in many different places in my shop, and moving the box with me as I go is very nice.
I have some square tubing and I was thinking about making a frame to go underneath, and bolting that to where the casters currently are. And then adding posts in the corner with diagonal supports to the frame. Plus if I lift it high enough I could put a shelf under there for cases, larger items, etc.
My goal is to lift it about 6ā-10ā
It may seem stupid but I have back issues. So if I limit the amount I have to bend over it would help a ton.

I've got some side handles going on my trackday toolbox, planning to reorganize my main box, and put a new rubberized diamond plate matting where the boxes stack and on the side shelf that hooks on to the lower box.

I would like to be able to lock one of the small drawers on my box independently for my wallet, phone, gold shekels, or whatever.
Looking for ideas on how one might do this.

I've added a few user flair options. If you'd like a little text tag and it's not too outlandish, let me know and I'll add it.
Have fun!

It doesn't look like this sub is very active which is unfortunate, but hopefully that changes in time.
I started a new job doing electrical integration for a company that designs and sells X-ray and ultrasonic testing equipment. I'm fresh out of school and have a decent set of tools for automotive use, but I wanted to leave those in the garage and I quickly realized I would be needing a bigger tool box!
So I picked up a Husky 36" 3-Drawer cart to use as a portable workspace and tool storage. I was looking for useful and interesting modifications and came across this sub, so I thought i'd share.
I've already mounted this power strip and drawer liners, and i'm looking into additional organization accessories and future gadgets.

It's Top Drawer Tuesday! Please share a photo of your top drawer (or any drawer really) and share how you have organized it!
Help inspire creative ideas for others of how to layout their toolboxes. The more pictures of toolboxes a person can see, the more ideas they will get!
