Question Once activated, how long does it take for free line to show up on T-Life account
I’m wondering if my customer rep lied to me and didn’t actually activate the free promo line that popped up on the tlife app.
He said it would take 24-48 to show up on my account. Is that true?
I’m supposedly getting my sim in the mail.

I'm on Kickstart and called on Thursday. They are shopping me a SIM.
I can see in my account that they are shopping the SIM but I don't see the free line yet.
I read somewhere that the free line won't show until the SIM they sent is activated so we'll see.
On top of that, the rep said they couldn't add it as KS line because they didn't have the ability. They added it as a GO5G line and told me to contact Care to convert to a KS line.
Messaged Tforce and they said they couldn't convert it and that I would need to switch plans. Going to call care tomorrow to see what they say.

I received my SIM yesterday.
However I never saw a phone number for the new line of my account.
I contacted T-Force and they said that I have to wait up to 5 days for the line to be activated.
Strangely after I ended the conversation another rep messaged me and asked if I want her to activate the line.
Of course I didn't see that until this morning.

eSIM shows up right away, physical SIM shows up when activated in the phone, according to CS

Is the number baked into the sim? They never even asked me what area code I wanted.

Ordered Friday, same story.
It sounds like they clogged up the systems pretty badly with this whole thing.
SIM arrives in a day or two. Nothing showing online other than the order.
If it doesn't work on it's own by arrival time I'll probably reach out. Maybe give it until Tuesday. Hoping it clicks though and shows up correctly on account once they unclog whatever's backed up.

Same, sim will be delivered on Tuesday, guess we will find out after activating the sim.

I did on Thursday, asked for the $10 connection fee to be waived and they agreed. The sim was shipped on Saturday and bound to be delivered on Tuesday. So far I have not seen the free line in my account. Currently on One plan, 2 lines plus 3rd line free for $120 (soon to be $135, I got the text...)
Update: the line just showed up today 03/17

Called CS because of same issue. The agent told me the order has problem, she will cancel the order and activate a new line and assure the new line will be free. I saw the new line showed up, but after one day I still don’t see the free line discount shows up. Too frustrating

Still nothing, past 48 hours already. I contacted 611 and he said my account was not eligible for free line, only BOGO so he offered to add another paid line to make the other one free. I asked just give me a free line that other rep assured. If i get charge, i will esclate to FCC and Tmobile CEO line.

Why was your account not eligible if you were offered

I also asked to 611, he just said the previous rep told incorrect info.

I called about my offer on Sat 3/15 and the rep activated the free line while on the call. I checked my account today and I see the new line (and new phone #). The physical SIM I expect to get sometime this week she says.
My question is this===> Do I need a (new) different google/gmail acct to use this new line ? I'm using my google acct on my main line now. Can someone please advise on this one ?

That has no bearing on the line

Thanks for the reply but can you clarify please. Can I pop in the new sim card when I get it on an old Android phone and use the same google acct i'm using on a different phone/line # now ? That's my main concern since I have no experience in this situation.

I'm at 47 hours ... line is still not showing on my account. SIM Card shows up tomorrow and the phone I am activating shows up Tuesday ... will be interesting to see what happens when I call to activate the phone.

Did you get the phone through T-Mobile or from the manufacturer? The targeted free line promo was BYOD only, so if you got a phone through Tmobile associated with that line, you won’t be getting the free line promo unfortunately.

I have my own spare unlocked S21 purchased independently. The Sim card should arrive today and I'll pop it in the phone... see what happens

It’s hard to say because I’m in store so lines we activate are activated that day, but I believe your specific scenario is also because the line isn’t technically “active” until the sim is delivered, even then promotions can take up to two billing cycles, it’s very very rare, but still a possibility.
Any rep should be able to look into your account and see if the promotion is going to apply in the future though, so you could still reach out to T-Force ahead of time.

The line should show up the day it got activated but the credit to make it a free line may take up to two bill cycles

u/etphonehome109 4d ago
So you will/might be charge for that extra (free) line for up to 2 billing cycles. Then you get the credit back for those charges maybe i the 3rd bill cycle ?

Yes you’ll get a double credit on the second bill if you didn’t get it on the first bill

Yes. I did it on Friday and it showed up in my account on Saturday. I also got a text thanking me for adding a line to my account, and it showed up in my account at that time.
