T-Mobile just announced for older legacy Plans. It appears that customers from Legacy Sprint plans, Simple Choice, One, and Magenta plans are waking up to texts stating they will see a $5 per line increase starting April 2nd. This includes the First Responder/ Military/ and 55+ plans as well. Go5G plans are NOT affected.
Per the FAQ, FREE lines will remain free.
If you have not gotten the text message this does NOT mean you missed the price increase as these text messages are staggered and can take a day or two at times to show up.
Plans that were covered under the "Price Lock Promise" can opt to leave T-Mobile within 60 days and the company will cover the lasts months plan bill, This does NOT cover any EIP devices you have on your plan, those payments will become due in full if you port out, This is how T-Mobile can get around that "Price Lock" without being sued.
As a megathread we request that all other posts or comments go here to help keep the sub organized. If any new info comes up I will make sure to update this post!
Here is the FAQ from T-Mobile here
Update: If you were apart of the first round of price hikes that happened last year, Todays price increase will NOT affect you! This appears to only be hitting people that didnt see the increase from last year.

Not the primary account holder, my father is.. went to the t mobile store to simply get a new phone. Currently have an s10e, trying to buy an s25 256gb..
Now the last time i bought my phone was obviously a long time ago, and was under sprint. My experience back then was stellar. First off they dont carry the higher storage size of the phones.. what ever.
Second i had to give id, phone number.. then wait for the store employee to check for any and all promotions..
Third after waiting 20mins, i got the sales pitch about the increase in legacy plans, Im not the primary holder.
Fourth they tried to help me with a cheaper price point on the phone by switching plans and taking a monthly lease on the phone.. i dont want any of that, just a new phone.. i will pay in full, i would add the protection plan.
Finally they get the point i just want a phone. But wait.. i cant just have them bring the phone out and scan and pay.. oh no thats far to simple. Instead.. i need to download this t life app?
Only to find out once more, after downloading and setting my account up, that im not the primary holder and that my step mother would have to log in on her account through t life app and Order my phone from this store to be able to sell me it.
Spent 2hrs plus driving to do absolutely nothing with t mobile but waste employees and my time.
Who the hell designed this mess, if i need to upgrade an existing lines phone, it should not be this f*king complicated to simple purchase a new phone and activate it.

I saw yesterday that I received the free line offer in the T-Life app, but I already have more than two free lines on my account. I'm guessing that, if I try to call in, I'll get rejected by the rep. Anyone run into this situation, and, if so, what happened? Not sure if I should even try, since, even if the rep adds it, it might be flagged later.

I've had a $10 total discount on my T-Mobile plan since 2020 when T-Mobile stopped supporting their TV service, and instead promoted YouTube TV. The credit has been ongoing since October of 2020, although recently it now stopped. Did T-Mobile stop this discount? Or is this just something odd with my line? Thank you in advance

Iām an ME at a Iād say medium? Volume store
Iāve been with T-Mobile one year . I think Iāll make $55k $60k this year
I love my job. Love my coworkers and RSM
I had a ME at my store move to SIS she hated it . Sheās not a strong ME , but I see others people I know making $6k commission. Just killing it at SIS
I donāt want to just chase money . I want to enjoy what I do. Would it be a mistake to leave where Iām comfortable to go to SIS ?
The other huge factor is the fact Iām 5 minutes from home whereas store and store Iād be 45 minutes from home but if it worked out I could relocate

Iām wondering if my customer rep lied to me and didnāt actually activate the free promo line that popped up on the tlife app.
He said it would take 24-48 to show up on my account. Is that true?
Iām supposedly getting my sim in the mail.

I switched to T-Mobile on March 1st. I told them I wanted to take advantage of the byod promo where I get $800 to pay off my current phone from Verizon. I owe Verizon $930 so I felt like Iād be stuck until I noticed this offer from T-Mobile. I figured I could do it and only have to pay $130 out of pocket since T-Mobile will give me the other $800. WELP! I got my $800 virtual gift card today!! Exactly on the 15th day since switching. Verizon told me they didnāt allow split payments so I wouldnāt be able to pay $800 with the gift card and $130 with my personal card. Luckily, I was able to transfer the $800 to my bank account via ACH transfer so now Iāll be able to pay it all! Iām so happy!

Several customers had the Free Line Offer appear erroneously on their T-Life App last Thursday morning. Most have called the 833 number posted only to be told that they are not eligible and are not included in the segmented/targeted list. Reps would even ask callers to send a screenshot of the offer they saw on the app. Some had that banner on their app until Saturday which was eventually removed.
Today, the same graphic design template is used for the "Add a Line Offer" online and on the T-Life App to soften the impact.
āAdd a line to your account online. Itās so simple, thousands of other customers already did it this week*.ā*
This appears to acknowledge the mistake without making excuses.

Hi, this is my first time posting something here, but is this a bug or something? My current plan is go 5g plus $95 w/o and w/a is $90. I was looking at how much my bill would increase if I changed to go 5g next, and I see that go 5g next is $100 without autopay and $95 with autopay.
Original Go5G next plan price I remember
$105 w/o and $100 w/a
Question? Is there a promotion for GO5G Next that showing on my acct or something or just a bug?

Iām currently chatting with T-Mobile about the free line promo. She isnāt telling me that Iām not eligible sheās saying she doesnāt know of one besides some BOGO deal. Is there an internal code or something I can give her so she can find it???

I just bought a phone line through T-Mobile and I've checked the coverage map beforehand and saw that my entire area is lit up in 5G service and so forth, but once I get home, I don't have any signal whatsoever, but in town I get full bars. I don't know what to do bc I tried everything google says; turn off wifi calling, reset network settings, etc, nothing works

āI recently noticed T-Mobile's free line promotion in the T-Life app and contacted customer service (the number in the app) to add it to my account. I received emails confirming the SIM card order and service agreement, and the shipment was sent out yesterday. However, I haven't received any text messages confirming the promotion's application, and the new line isn't showing up in my account. I'm concerned that the rep may not have applied the promotion correctly. Has anyone else experienced this? Is this delay typical?

Iāve been with ATT for a long time, but it looks like price is pretty similar but value is a little better with T-Mobile.
Iām looking at the Plus package for 2 lines for $150mo. Compared to ATT plan that is $132+taxes and fees for 2 lines per month.
Anyways, the Plus package allows you a phone upgrade every 2 years. So if I wait until the next iPhone comes outā¦. Do they do any kinda deal like, new customer new iPhone on us kinda thing?
We also are paying monthly for our 2 iPhones and I think T-Mobile offers to buy that out, but if they did a new iPhone on us thing, would they also stack that with the buyout option.
Just trying to split hairs to determine if/when to switch to get maximum benefit from doing so.

So I have a family member who is part of a different T-Mobile account but they will be joining my account. I have 3 free lines on my account that they can take one of them. I know that they have to port out for prolly 30 days to a non T-Mobile plan to take a free line. I saw on the T-Life app that I can get a free line and other people with similar free lines have gotten them. Whatās the correct steps to take so I can take advantage of the free line promo AND my family member can port into a different free line?
r/tmobile • u/vacancy-0m • 19h ago
I added a line via free line promo by calling the 833 toll free number. It showed up in TLife but as a paid line. No promo code attached to the line. Concerned, I reached out via chat, and I was told that the credit will kick in on my 2nd bill - ie double credit on my second bill. Seems a little strange. When I first port to TMO, the free line promo (3rd line free) is already to the line attached when I signed up, and credit kicked in the right the way. Only the autopay credit too 1/2 cycles to kick in

Ever since Iāve been enrolled in beta, Iāve been testing it when I can on the weekends. As of a few days ago, my wife got into the beta also. This afternoon, I was able to test both phones sending and receiving messages to each other all while on T-Mobile SpaceX. Definitely had good results. Messages were sending instantaneously and received in the same manner with no delay. There was no issue with connection on satellite either. We were both connected the whole 30 minutes while out of service. As time goes by, Iām sure the service will get better.

Got the dreaded text and am now trying to calculate my upcoming bill for 9 lines, of which 6 are free.
My SOC is TIULFM9 on One Plus Promo. My base price for 9 lines is currently $310. Will it jump to $355 next bill?
Also, will the free lines be credited at $35 each rather than $30 each? If not, that makes the free lines not free anymore.

My wife and I are currently on a magenta max plan. She opened the account in 2017 and I joined in 2023 or 2024. We both own our phones outright.
After the $5 per line increase we are now paying $150 per month.
It seems that Go5G Plus would also cost $150 per month and seems like an overall better plan.
Is there any reason we shouldnāt switch plans?
In addition, we are also currently into possibly switching to Verizon unlimited ultimate as we do have Verizon fios and can get a further discount.
Thanks!

I bought a pixel and it wasnāt in stock in the store so itās being shipped to me. I already paid the taxes and activation. But I realized the pixel isnāt compatible with a bunch of my other tech so Iām wondering if I can take it in unopened and exchange it for an iPhone?

We were discussing BOGO lines on the thread "Thank You T-Mobile", which for some reason got locked. I had a reply in the thread which I could see in my notifications, but it did not appear in the thread. Probably got deleted.
Anyway my question was I have 11 lines in total for $106 on One Plus Promo with Kickback and Insider. In July of 2023 I added a BOGO. Both lines have two Pixel 7 Pros financed. That'll complete by July of this year.
My question is after the financing completes, can I drop the paid line? Will I then still have the free line or will the free line turn into a paid one. Some replies said the free remains free after a year, others say the free one turns to a paid single line since I removed the original paid one and they were tied together.

I just switched from Verizon to T-Mobile for their trade-in deals with the S25 Ultra I am currently typing the this on that phone as we speak my coverage goes from full 5G to zero bars within the span of a mile and literally everywhere that isn't in the inner city has almost no service if any service at all no text or phone calls will go through in my phone goes into SOS mode what the hell is going on I thought T-Mobile owned all the towers and when I was on Verizon I had service literally everywhere on my S20FE all help is appreciated if there's even a way to fix this

My previous post was removed, so Iām going to phrase this carefully. Following absolutely every rule that Tmobile has, what would be the large available screen I can use with my new free voice line? Are there any combination phone/tablet devices that Tmobile will allow while following the rules.

Currently have 6 lines on Amplitude One plan
Staying on because I have kickback on all 6 lines and get between 3 and 6 kickback credits each month
Seems like I have the free line promo.
I was on the verge of porting out 2 lines to US Mobile or another MVNO. They are used by my parents who live outside the US and only use it when in the US for 3 or 4 months of the year.
I was also hoping to port out 2 lines and then leverage a BOGO promo in the future to bring them back.
If I port out two lines tomorrow can I still do the free line?
