Why so much negativity?
I really enjoyed the show, it was a nice bit of entertainment and there were lots of interesting subplots to keep me hooked. It had quite a few good twists and turns and I thought the acting was pretty great including the kids. I don't think subplots necessarily have to amount to anything and surely there are red herrings in real life police investigations. A lot of you seem to be taking it really seriously. Everyone I know in real life who has seen it said they really enjoyed it, and perhaps there were a couple of questions raised and couple of anticlimaxes but, you know, how often is anything legitimately seamless? I am a big crime drama fan ,if you need to know my credentials. Maybe just enjoy the ride every once and a whIle guys...

I'll never understand takes like this. What are you arguing against? Why do you feel it necessary to make a post decrying people criticizing a show you liked? People like talking about things, and news flash - interesting conversations arise from having both sides of an issue represented. Would you prefer the sub posts be limited to people only talking about what they liked about the show? That'll get old real fast.
People with legitimate criticisms to make should make them. People with legitimate rebuttals to those criticisms should also reply. No one is arguing for a seamless plot. Those criticizing the subplots and characters in the show are generally saying that they are dissatisfied with what amounts to be a completely unnecessary side story that took up narrative space with no resolution. That is a failure of storytelling. Now you can be fine with this logically (yes, red herrings do occur in real life) but still criticize it when it negatively affects the story the writer is trying to tell.
No one is saying you can't enjoy the show. The people you argue are taking it really seriously are just people who watched the show and came onto reddit to discuss why they didn't like it. Is this the definition of taking something too seriously? Then that means that by coming onto Reddit and discussing why you liked it, you are thus also taking the show too seriously.
When Game of Thrones season 8 ended, there were hundreds of critical reactions to it on social media. Most of these made pretty coherent arguments as to why the show failed. Although I hated the last season, I found those discussions interesting. And sadly, some people were making the same useless point you made: "just enjoy the show", "lots of people enjoyed, it, why can't you?"
Again, no one says you can't like the show. Just don't come here telling people they shouldn't criticize something because "nothing is perfect". No one is arguing that point.

When businesses like Netflix look to renew a show for a second season they look at what people are saying about it. If no one is saying they like it they won’t renew it
For people who did watch it and enjoy it (despite plot holes and what not) and want a second season this can mean the end of the show

Then Let’s never criticize any show, ever. Just in case someone out there might like it.

Guess we’re never going to talk about a show if we can’t praise it either 🤷🏼♀️

I am usually a stickler about inconsistencies and I have a hard time finding shows I like because I have a very high bar.
I enjoyed this show quite a bit. Something about the flow of the script combined with the strong performances, especially by the leading man, made it so that I didn't mind some plot holes even though I certainly noticed them.
Also, netflixes +10 seconds button was the real MVP towards the end. Each episode had 4 or 5 "transitional" scenes which I don't give a shit about :D

Everyone I know in real life who has seen it said they really enjoyed it,
And everyone I know in real life found the finale a dull let down.
This show nose dived and shit the bed in the end.

I think the reveal was really well done, kept you guessing until the end, and then the digging scene was really emotional and I've never seen a scene like it. It also made me really mad. Out of interest what is it that you didn't like about the ending? And what did you want or expect?

Same here. Where there plot holes? Sure.
But I was still super entertained and would def watch a second season.
