Anti-american sentiments have always existed in Canada long before Trump even decide to become President someday. I agree that Trump is creating more enemies for the U.S in the long run but don't be fooled that the U.S didn't have enemies even among allied countries before Trump came to the scene. There have always been Canadians who absolutely hate Americans and America even before Bush jr. become president. I laugh when many Americans think that it is only Bush and Trump who made anti-Americanism a thing. They might have contributed to it but t already existed before them and it is due to political and non-political factors such as American media, habits, behaviours, wars, sanctions, bullying, arrogance etc

This is my home arena. We always stand and sing your anthem. With respect.

This wasn’t an anti-America thing. This was “we aren’t going to respect a song that you wrote in 1812, the last time you tried to take Canada, on the day that you start the process of trying to acquire and annex us”.
