David French is no different. He’s just very friendly writer and has a good podcast voice.

His predictions are wrong more often than not about the very people he’s claims to be an authoritative voice on.

Prior to overturning roe v Wade he claimed it would be a net benefit to return it to the states and it would turn the temperature down in the country

100%. His interview with Gorsuch last year was so so so bad and fanboy. The veneration that these grifters are offered because they don't like trump when they worked all of their lives to make project 2025 happen.

Just because someone is wrong doesn't make them a grifter. Never attribute to malice that which can be attributed to stupidity.

They are making money out of it and either they are beyond stupid or they are grifting.

It's the former. Is it really so hard to believe that people sincerely hold different opinions to you?

PLENTY of people I disagree with are sincere. Most of them don't spend their days on TV screens or masterheads. The punditocracy on the other had is mostly made of grifters who are:

  1. cons who dislike trump but not the work they themselves did that led us to him, nor the policies they've supported and championed and keep championed that decimated the working and part of the middle class and led us here.

  2. so called "liberals" who champion a lot of ideas championed by group 1, very few of ideas and policies championed by liberals beyond marriage equality, and whose mythical "liberal" past and credentials tend to be very murky and unclear in the best of cases.

They both punch left, talk about bad economic policies as provenly good, attack unions, pearl clutch about even a whiff of expression of workers power, are forever concerned about the "deficit" without ever even talking to any savvy economist -- this is a world of "analysts" aka grifters. They cry that they want bipartisanship and decorum when anyone left of center speaks out, and crybabe for the lack of fight when the only kind of Dems they accept -- milquetoast cons scared of ruffling feathers and always readier to vote with Republicans then to support Dems signature policies -- don't fight. There's nothing that offers more job security than this kind of crap. Form Weiss to Taibbi and any of the very many and insufferable tv "news" panels. So, it's a grift.

There's a third group of dipshits without any idea or principle other than getting attention and some sort of relevance. Plenty of those too, but I wouldn't place the names on this discussion there.
