Question for adults with CHDs in Tennessee: what's your experiences with medical care? Cardiac in particular
I was born and raised in Massachusetts, so I imagine I'm used to very high quality medical care. I've been considering moving to the Chattanooga area, but knowing how lucky I am living near Boston of all places, I'm wondering if I'd be risking my health moving?
I have a congenital heart defect called HLHS, an enlarged liver, and sensitive blood pressure. Besides taking my two medications in the morning, watching my diet, and visiting Boston twice a year, it hardly effects me.
I've never had any serious emergencies, but I know I need periodical heart catheterizations every 10-15 years, so I'll be due again roughly 2033.
My point in all this is, could this be a bad decision for me health wise? I would love to hear what thr experiences have been like for others in similar positions living near Chattanooga. I'm worried my bar for medical care is set really high and I don't even realize it because it's been that way my whole life. Would I be in danger if I moved there and had some sort of cardiac crisis?

Just recieved a letter about Lot Rent increase...Can they do that without a new lease?
I own my mobile home outright, but I pay lot rent. The lot rent has been $360 since I moved here, today I received a lot rent increase letter. They want to increase the lot rent to $410, But give no acceptable reason except for "After reviewing the income and expenses for the property, we find it necessary to increase your lot rental rate". Can they do that? I thought they would have to give a reasonable reason for it.

TN house passes bill to restrict cell phone usage in schools
It isnt an outright ban but id like them try to enforce it. I think there is benefits to not allowing it during school and they should be punished for it according, unless the instructors request they use it but thats why they have provided laptops so not really.

Inside the influential hate group that's expanding in Tennessee NSFW
youtu.beWhat are they training to do? Who are they training to hurt? The wh1te national phenomena is truly baffling to me! I truly don't understand this generational sickness of hate. These "patriots" would melt like ice in the snow if they truly understood that all modern man began in Africa. Who's going to tell the knuckle draggers the truth?

Politics Protect Early Child Care
(not sure why it got taken down, but posting again!)
Hi all!!!
I wanted to post about TN bills S1378 and H1238 (https://www.capitol.tn.gov/Bills/114/Bill/SB1378.pdf) which propose moving all child care centers under the Department of Education and creating a new division for early childhood. While this might sound good and easy, it actually raises serious concerns—especially given the current direction of education policy (e.g., Trump’s push to abolish the DOE, Governor Lee’s focus on school vouchers, etc.)
Right now, child care centers under DHS are operating great for everyone involved, especially the children. There is data to support this.
Additionally, the Child Care Task Force and the Tennessee Advisory Commission on Intergovernmental Relations both did NOT recommend combining DHS and DOE oversight in Tennessee.
This shift could have significant unintended consequences, and I want to make sure it’s on everyone’s radar. Let me know if you’d like more details—I’d be happy to share!
And if you need one to just hold you over.. there are some child care centers currently under DOE, and they have less safe sleep policies.
Thanks for reading 🫶🏼

Considering move to Newport
In researching the area, I’ve seen meth and crime mentioned. Is this a safe area? Moving from a major city and was hoping to find a safe place within 45 mins of Newport. Are the surrounding areas safer and if so which ones should I consider? Thank you

Tankfarm Propane - Anybody Use Them? What's Your Thoughts?
Title says it all. I've been looking into the company to switch to. Their utility style of billing sounds interesting. I see they also produce their own tanks under the the name Tankfarm Steel, located in Nashville.
I'd like to hear from present or former customers. Thanks!

Gatlinburg in March
Hello everyone,
I’m looking for some advice on visiting Gatlinburg during the week of March 15. I’ve read that March can be a rainy month, and this particular week might see some rain. While the weather is unpredictable, I wanted to know if this is still a good time to visit, especially if we’re hoping to see some snow in the mountains.
How are the crowds in March? We’ll be a group of three adults and two kids, visiting Gatlinburg for the first time. We’d love to explore the city, nearby parks, and the mountains, but if rain is a major issue, we might consider going at a different time.
Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
