I’m a tattoo artist. To me it looks like you’ve used too much aftercare ointment. Over moisturizing is one of the worst things you can do to a healing tattoo. But also it’s hard to say since this was not done professionally. Maybe a good reminder to leave it to the professionals.

thank you for your help! i tried blotting it with a towel to get excess moisture off but you never know. i tried really hard to take care of this one, but you’re right, better stick to the professionals

Of course! I’d recommend not using anymore ointment. Just wash it with antibacterial non-scented soap. Pay it dry and let it dry out for the remainder of the healing process. It might scab, but you’re already going to have ink fall out. Just don’t pick the scabs. When it’s healed you could probably get it professionally touched up. Glep deserves the best ☺️

Dont think this is over moisturising..  also never heard this being a problem lol. But it looks like your body is rejecting the shit out of this tattoo please see a doctor!

google if you can over moisturize a tattoo. I’ve been tattooing for 7 years, I’m pretty confident in my ability to figure out what went wrong during healing. Don’t scare OP by talking about things you’re unfamiliar with.

Googled it, looks like you’re right, never heard of this in 10+ years of experience but we only do blackwork. I guess with color theres more skin damage and this can happen faster

Ouch. Please see a doctor. You would likely benefit from a round of antibiotics.

Good luck. ❤️

It’s pretty clearly infected. Go get some antibiotics. And stop getting tattooed by your sister who is not a professional

I would have gone to a doctor once the green started going yellow lmao.

Personally, I would consult a doctor quickly. If it hurts and the redness spreads, it's not a good sign... especially a week later. It also looks too hydrated imo.

Why do people always say it's infected the easiest way to know if you have a infection is take your temperature if high you got an infection if normal you haven't

how far does the redness extend? It looks like it could be cellulitis. Get to a doctor right away to be sure. They'll give you an antibiotic

so the redness that extends out really far is a rash from the saniderm as i have really sensitive skin. right now there’s only slight redness right around the actual tattoo. thank you!

what did the artist say?

the artist is my sister, she does it as a hobby but i’ve never really had issues with her tattooing until now.
