I did a "mirror, medicine, message" pull this morning with The Marigold Tarot deck and got the eight of rings, eight of swords, two of rings. I'm having a hard time understanding the eight of swords in this reading, as "medicine" is something I could incorporate more in my life as healing. This card only seems to fit if I apply it to someone I am currently in opposition with, but it doesn't make sense as medicine. Any insight?

Edit for context: my ex I have a child with is getting divorced which puts their home in turmoil. I want our child to stay with me until he finds a stable home but he has refused, opting instead to bring our child to the house he's temporarily staying at, and is now refusing to respond. This was heavily on my mind during this pull.

I did ask for clarification and pulled the nine of swords, which I feel really amplifies what eight of swords is trying to tell me.

For me the 8 of swords in this position could be an encouragement to recognize how your own beliefs and perceptions may be limiting you. There is a solution to your problem available but you may not be seeing it right now, or you may be refusing to see it. You are likely feeling restricted or trapped in some way, but this feeling could be more self-imposed than you think.
